I am a pretty handy guy and I thought installing new locks as an ungrade would be extremely simple. I suppose it could be done by an amateure like myself, but I decided to have a pro do it and upgrade to an electronicly controlled deadbolt too. What I got was a real lesson in why a professional like Ryan Delfino was clearly the smartest move I could make.
First, he examined the doors thoroughly and took my old lock hardware off. The doors are about 9' tall and after 18 years, they had imperceptively settled with time. Ryan installed new, longer hinge screws to re-hang the doors correctly. I would have totally missed this. The new locks looked identical to the untrained eye, but actually needed strike plate adjustmens and new post holes drilled for the heavier handles. (Photos attached).
He replaced all my deadbolts and ensured all my exterior doors were keyed alike, including the new Schlage Encode system. He helped my split my wi-fi to have both a 5.0 and 2.4GHZ band for Xfinity's latest router, so I can control and monitor the status of my home being locked from anywhere.
Since my doors were not as perfectly aligned as I thought, it was hard to turn the old deadbolt and the door handle. Sometimes it had to be pulled in and held in order to turn the bolt. Now it works like butter!
The point of this review is two-fold: One to forewarn people to leave the lock installation to a professional like Ryan. He let me watch him work and he explained what he was doing at each step.
Secondly, it is to ensure you pick a great locksmith who clearly loves what he does and listens carefully to his customers. His rates were no more than a basic locksmith, but his knowledge, professionalism and his willingness to make everything work perfectly sets him apart from anyone else you could hire to work on your home security.
If I could give him more stars than the review...
Read moreMy name is terry and am from Perth Australia. I had traveled to my Naples residence and when I got to my house I realized I had left my keys back down under! How could that have slipped my mind you mind ask? Between taming my kangaroos and crocs and being in a rush for the airport I must have just got forgot. Anyways, I searched for a lock smith and was greeted by a strapping, handsome young Italian stud by the name of Ryan. He was very professional and quick!! Very nice young man. I would highly recommend this locksmith to anyone. Great experience, other than being locked out of my home in the sweltering, heat and humidity Naples has to offer. Crikey mate!!
Just kidding... but on a serious note, I have used this locksmith before and he was great. Very professional, on time and great guy. I’d recommend...
Read moreI called Bonita Beach locksmiths and scheduled an appointment to have two automobile keys cut. By accident, I went to B&B locksmiths assuming that they are Bonita Beach. I had my own key blanks and was charged almost $150 to cut two keys for my automobile. Bonita Beach called and asked why I did not arrived for the appointment and I explained that I went to the wrong place. Bonita Beach would have charged me $25 for what I paid $150 and they were able to program the automobile remotes for $50, which B&B could not do at the Bonita Beach Road location, and was going to charge $ 250 per fob . Needless to say I recommend Bonita Beach...
