Honan-Allston Branch of the Boston Public Library — Attraction in Boston

If you have children this isn't really a great location the area is more for students and adults. I highly suggest the main branch of the Cambridge public Library. the third floor is completely dedicated to children and they have all kinds of wonderful programs and a massive front yard. This library is located very close to Harvard University. All you need to do is catch the 66 bus from Allston go to Harvard square and then either walk or catch the 69 or 68. I haven't been to this library in many years when it opened it was very interesting because of all of the stuff in adjacent Park however it is in an area or I can totally see the neglecting it. This is the closest library to me and I come here at least once a month with my children 4 and 2. I echo the sentiment of the review below - the staff ignore children and are unfriendly at best. I have never felt welcomed. Today myself and another mother with her 4 year old were talked to twice about our children's volume level while playing with the toys they provide in the children’s section and the new “sensory space.” I was asked if I had told my child to use his “inside voice” - and then told that most children can behave themselves. I'm been commin to the Honan library for a year and a half and the conditions of the library are worsen dirty place where you seat to read the sofas smell terrible ants everywhere small mouse walking around The bathrooms don't clean the properly way and a lot kids and newborns come to this library had to smell no air conditioning will be better to closed until the people who work at the library are willing to keep clean Manager just seat passing the time bad attitude just faces if someone ask for help security horribly no skills no English I hope you take an action immediately or I be completing to the board...
