Attempting to donate brand new, still tagged clothing, we called to verify they would take our donation. They would in fact take them. We were told to drive around the side of the building to drop off donations. We arrived with our donations in boxes and the tax deduction slips with item descriptions, maker, size, color and quantities. All we required was their organization name, address, tax ID number and a value to be added by the organization. The employee had no idea what to do and called a manager outside. The manager was anything but happy or eager to accept our donation. She said they do not assign value to items nor do they fill out the paperwork that we had brought with us completed already other than the organizations tax ID, name, address and value of the items. They said they only offer a receipt of material voucher with no value attached for tax deductible purposes. With that she turned and walked away. So we had no choice but to load our donations up and leave. I'm sure they pay their employees the same as you pay yours. I realize you need to pay rent......but you are serving a poor community who often don't own a car to drive to a better and affordable GW within the state of NJ. You in a sense have a captive audience. ...
