To the man working fishing licenses on Mother’s Day Sunday who was complaining to another man about “the little blonde boy and red headed girl”, your unkindness was duly noted. The man you were complaining to was their grandfather. “That little blonde boy” is Level 2 Autistic and you actually didn’t hear anything from him. He’s a pretty happy person (and quiet), unlike you. And “that red headed girl”, his sister, is two and she was having a hard afternoon. I’ll give you that much. We took her outside and left because I was well aware she was having a difficult time. That’s the thing about us moms. We know — adult men don’t have to announce it to the nearest customer and rant about it. Your behavior was inexcusable. My father let you get it out of your system until he kindly let you know those were his grandchildren and you went silent. An apology would have been appropriate at that time. I hope you had a great Mother’s Day. 👍 Thanks for the insults on mine. You saw one minuscule portion of a family’s life, made a judgement that they’re bad children and had the audacity to speak on it to what you thought was a stranger to all involved. How embarrassing for you. I’d like to think maybe this isn’t your typical behavior either, and that just like us, we caught you at a brief, poor time. That’s the thing about having grace…hopefully you pick some up along the way to...
Read moreI love this store! They have all the gear I need for fishing, hunting, camping, hiking, archery, food preservation/processing, fire arms and ammo. I'm always created when I go in.
The employees are friendly and helpful. I know I get asked at least five times while in the store if they can help me. They are eager to help with sizes and merchandise that is locked up for safety.
They DO have quality merchandise. All Cabela's products have a lifetime warranty, something goes wrong just take it back. They will exchange it for you no problem.
They also carry popular name brands like North Face, Salt Life, Shimano, Lou's, Mean Eyes, Glock, Smith & Wesson, Columbia, and on and on. Too many to list!
Now, as part of the Bass Pro family, they WILL honor Bass Pro gift cards. Just take them to the service desk and they will exchange it for a Cabela's card. And vice versa when shopping at a Bass Pro stores. I've done it myself.
I did ALL of my Christmas shopping there. Their prices are competitive with other stores in the same category. However, most weeks I go in, I find many of the items I need on sale. Yes, name brands and Cabela's merchandise.
The Cabela's in Bowling Green is absolutely my favorite for shopping in this category. I give them 5...
Read moreBeing a long time fan of Cabela's and their product line I was so excited to finally have a store close to visit. Going to Cabela's or Bass Pro is usually about the experience however this store is no bigger than local sporting goods stores so not worth any extra effort to visit. Individual items are not priced instead the location of the item is priced and not everything is placed where it belongs. Several times I just put something back on the shelf because I could not find the original location of the item which has its price. Talking about price, Holy COW!! hope you win the lottery before going in because competitive pricing does not exist. They are having a hunting sale right now and I found the exact same feeder Academy had on sale this fall was double!!! the price at Cabela's. This was a trip for my birthday and I ended up just keeping most of my money in my pocket to spend somewhere else. Better off running down to Bass Pro in Nashville or Uncle Lee's in Greenville if you want to...
