Usually love Texas Roadhouse, but today's visit was lackluster at best. I'm giving 3 stars because most of my previous visits (most, not all) have been great. The positive points: the hostess brought my husband and I to a 2 seater table between two tables on either side, one long bench for all 3 tables and chairs across the table, that both had toddlers seated on the ends nearest our table. The parents would have had to move the high chairs for us to even get in to our seats. When she saw the situation and the dread on our faces, she immediately offered us the bar or to wait a few more minutes for a booth of our own. Excellent attention to detail of customers' comfort. Our server, Olivia, came shortly after we were seated, good timing with basically no wait. Our drinks were correct and the first basket of rolls were excellent. She took our order and was very friendly. Things went a bit awry at that point. My salad was brought out with no dressing, and I remembered at this point that I hadn't told her what kind I wanted, but she had not asked. Not a huge deal, but I had to wait about 10 minutes until another server came to bring my husband's chili to get it rectified. My server finally approached when she saw us talking to the other server. About 5 minutes later I was finally brought the dressing. The salad was really good. In the meantime I also had to motion to our server to refill a drink. She also brought another basket of rolls, most of which were smashed nearly flat, but still tasted ok. At this point the music was turned up so loud we could not talk to each other and the server taking an order at the table next to us had to shout to be heard. This lasted 3 songs. Our meal comes out and my husband's steak is missing the smothered onions and mushrooms he had asked for. The server came right after the food was delivered so we let her know about the missing items. He should have just done without because the ones on my steak looked like lumps of coal. In my husband's words "I couldn't guess what that is if you paid me." I said I'd taste them because appearances can be deceiving in the light. They were awful. When she brought his, they were the same. Both our ribeyes were under (un) seasoned. My sweet potato and the grilled shrimp were excellent, though, as was my husband's chili, shrimp and mashed potatoes. Our finished dishes and glasses from each course were left on the table the entire meal and we placed them all at the end neatly so she could pick them up as she went. I did not speak up about the mushrooms until she brought the check because who really wants to risk the ire of the staff, right? So I showed her my plate and how they were burned beyond recognition, and she at first acted like she didn't comprehend the issue. Then I asked if I could be comped just the price of the mushrooms, not even the onions, because at least some of those were edible. She went to the manager and returned with .99 taken off the bill and no visit from the manager. Okay, it's whatever. She was polite the whole meal, if inattentive. We paid and left, without an apology for the issues. We arrived shortly after 8:30p.m. and left at 9:50 on a Thursday night when they close at 10 so there should not have been a crunch to get patrons out the door because it was closing, so I have no clue what the problem was tonight, but I was sorely...
Read moreNormally I love Texas Roadhouse I have always enjoyed having a steak there even though I'm not a red meat eater often! I took my sister and brother-in-law there and they had no problems at all but the waiter that I had was not really doing is job with us but thank God we had a wonderful manager that took care of us the manager of the restaurant I ordered a ribeye steak and it was never done first it was too raw I ordered it medium well then it was medium well and it came out which dark gray! I told him that I just wanted the center pink not gray and I got it every way inside and out but what I wanted so they brought a steak I couldn't eat it I was totally disgusted I had to wrap it up for my brother-in-law he had it for breakfast the next morning and when he got it it looked like it was overdone as well so I don't know what's going on there but I paid for my sister's and my brother-in-laws and I didn't even get to have dinner so needless to say I was upset and after all that he gave me a $4 credit off of my bill I don't know what $4 was for but it was just ridiculous to the point where I don't think I'll ever bother going back there again I've been doing experience anything like that at this restaurant or at the name Texas Roadhouse so I don't know what's going on there but when I say that the service was four stars it was because of the manager was constantly there checking on us the food for my brother-in-law and sister they enjoyed it immensely I put one star because I didn't get to eat any of it I had shared a piece of cheesecake with my sister and I ate a little bit of a sweet potato which tasted like it was waterlogged outside of that that's all I can tell you wasn't that a good evening at all plus I live an hour away from there so an hour there for gas an hour back for gas it just you know it was not a good thing for me I don't mind spending money anywhere as long as I can enjoy what I've spending it on but this...
