My stay on 03/15/21 was excellent. I only needed to stay for one night, and had searched specifically for a hotel that still served a hot breakfast and had an open hot tub. Drury checked both of those boxes. Everyone was very friendly, not only during check-in, but as I left the next day as well. The room was very clean, as was the hot tub/pool area. (I'm picky about that, I'm one of those people who checks the room and bedding out before I ever open my suitcase.) I slept soundly all night, with no music or noises intruding, and my room was the first room from the elevator on the second floor. The breakfast was delicious, I chose eggs, sausage patties, biscuits and gravy, and hash browns, although there were other options as well, such as fruit, yogurt, etc. The only thing I wished for that I didn't see was flavored creamer (in addition to the regular they already offered). At breakfast a lovely employee took my order and asked if I would it on a plate (to eat in the lobby) or in a Styrofoam box to take with me. I chose the latter. (Also, if I'm being picky, I liked the higher end disposable silverware, that was rolled into a nicer napkin and enclosed with a silver paper band. It was a nice touch. It's definitely not the cheap, plastic white silverware that comes in the small plastic bag. I thought it was actual silverware when I first looked at it, and wondered how that was going to work if I was taking breakfast back to my room.) Taking the extra step of having a staff member prepare everyone's plates is a smart way to solve the dilemma of how to keep food equipment and serving utensils from being handled by everyone. The plexiglass was nicely done and didn't seem cheap to me at all. I could see the food easily and converse easily with the staff as well. It definitely makes you look back and rethink everything that we thought of as normal in the past, and how not very sanitary it really was. (I work in contact tracing, so I definitely notice things like that more these days.) Thanks for a nice, relaxing stay, on what was my first hotel...
Read moreBe CAREFUL of this motel. We have stayed at it four times within the last few years, two times in 2025. Rooms were fine overall but not with the kind of cleanliness you associate with Drury (our current stay was in a room with what appeared to be vomit that ran down the fabric on the bed frame and hasn't been cleaned / sanitized - yuk).
This time we booked and paid for a Delux King room through Capital One. When we arrived after a long day of driving, we were given keys to a room which turned out to be a Double Queen room, not a Delux King. The clerk said absolutely nothing of the change as she gave us the keys to the room.
After we got our luggage in and discovered the error, we took the booking confirmation to the front desk, patiently waited our turn and politely explained the error. The clerk was outright dismissive, bordering on rude - certainly way more than abrupt - and simply said they were overbooked and that's the best she could do. Another clerk came out and said the same thing but also insinuated that the reservation made through Capital One was "third party" and therefore was nothing they would attempt to fix with either a better room or a refund. Nuts.
We received no apology from Drury Bowling Green, there was no manager effort to resolve this, there was no offer of another night free or a refund of any nature.
Who wants to be treated like this when we've frequented this facility in the past as we have?
In addition to never intending to stay at this facility again due to their outright dishonesty and dissembling, it is crystal clear that it behooves anyone looking to book this motel to speak directly with the motel after placing their reservation (1) to confirm whether the motel has overbooked as they did on us and (2) to determine whether what you reserved and paid for is what you'll actually get.
This was lousy and abysmal treatment.
Drury has been one of our favorites in the past -...
Read moreOk so I'm not a snob just starting out. I'm still sleeping in the room - 305 - even after posting this I just need you all to see what my "freshly cleaned room" looks like.... I have enough dust between the head of the bed and wall to make a small dog, a random prescription pill by the trash can, a ton of trash scattered between the bed and night stand including a mini oreo, it all started as I turned on the heater to warm my room a little and my smoke detector went off, I thought oh that's odd, I'll let the front desk know! And they were great at the desk! I went back and laid on the bed knocking my phone behind it and went to get it finding a half inch of dust on the box spring cover, wall, and floor! I thought "oh they must miss this spot quite a bit" then I pulled the bedside table thats sits closer to the window back to reach my phone and kneeled on a mini oreo. This thing was a rock, older then me it seemed. I was thinking it would end there and went to throw the oreo away and found a small white pill on the ground literally right next to the can. So I decided let's keep looking and it seemed to be more and more trash everywhere I looked. Again great staff at the front, offered me a new room that I declined after asking my coworker to see his room as well and found much of the same. No free drugs in his room though!😞 also, leave the air circulating if not on ac because the room starts to have a bit of a smell like an attic, dusty and thick feeling air like it holds a weight in your lungs. Great location plenty of food options, great front desk staff, even took pictures for the manager and cleaning staff. Just very...
