This was my first time visiting an Outback Steakhouse and was excited to finally try it. We went at 4:30PM on a Tuesiday & were surprised to be seated immediately but it should have given us forewarning. There were about 6 tables seated in the restaurant when we arrived and our waitress greeted us and took drink orders quickly. The 2 stars are for the waitress who was attentive and friendly. She recommended an appetizer and since I had been hearing about the onion blossom for years I ordered one. It arrived dripping with grease and soggy to the point that my hubby and I couldn't eat half of it. We figured the grease it cooked in wasn't hot enough. While waiting for our order to be taken I watched the activity coming and going from the kitchen as we were seated only a few yards from the entry to the back and I noticed the employees were unkempt, disheveled and had dirty uniforms and every one looked unhappy to be there. Our waitress actually had what looked like pet fur all over hers beneath her apron. We were celebrating a new job, so we wanted to come somewhere special and try new foods. I ordered chicken and ribs with a salad and fries. My hubby ordered steak and coconut shrimp with baked sweet potato and a salad. I was generally unhappy about the taste of my food. It was barely warm even after waiting 30 minutes for it. The barbecue sauce was watery tasting and the ribs were dry. I had to gnaw meat off the ribs they were so dry. I only ate 2 ribs and left the others. The chicken was well done but lukewarm. The salad was good. My husbands food arrived barely warm as well. He loved the shrimp but said his steak had little flavor and was overcooked so he asked for it to be sent back and redone. The waitress said that she would go to the back and let them know and it was another 20 minutes before another steak came out. This one was cooked to his liking but still had an off flavor according to my husband. He said it tasted like it was marinated in something strange. His potato and salad were good he said. When my husband sent his stake bank I mentioned to the waitress that my ribs were so tough I could not eat them and asked about why the food was so cold and she said she would see about getting me a different order of ribs but I never heard any more about it. When she brought the bill it was $70 and my husband and I both still had over half of the blooming onion, 3/4 of my ribs, most of his steak and cold fries left on our plates. I asked her about the ribs and she said they ran out and the fresh ones wouldn't be ready for an hour. She commented we mustn't have been very hungry and our eyes must've been bigger than our stomach but we told her that the problem was cold overcooked food and an onion puddled in grease and she just laughed and offered to bring to go boxes. We declined and nicely told her we appreciated her friendliness but our first visit would be our last due to the disastrous food. They never offered to reduce the check or anything and we hated to pay so much money for bad inedible food We paid, left and decided that we should have just gone to Texas Roadhouse for that kind of money. At least we know we would've gotten...

Went inside to request seating for 6 individuals and stated we needed a table/tables. After about 10 minutes roughly(mind you they weren't busy), they try to put us in a booth. We told them we needed a table, and it felt like we became the biggest inconvenience. The front hostess had a terrible attitude to go along with it..
On to the meal/service. Comes time for the check, and we told the server that we had 2 appetizers to split between both bills. He gave confirmation, and reassured he would correct it. Check my bank app, and see the wrong amount charged. He comes to the table stating the machine "froze" during the transaction and hands me a receipt for a different charged amount. Check the app, and I now see 2 charges totaling $130. I show him said charges, and he says he'll go reverse the transaction. Comes back after a few minutes and says it's canceled and to wait 24-48 hours for a refund to process.
I state this isn't enough, that I need a receipt or void slip to verify. He comes back with the ORIGINAL RECEIPT where he screwed up and rang it up and its crumpled from throwing it away, and tried to say his manager printed it. We ask to see the manager.. explain the situation, and he's not fully vested or aware of what happened. He was only told one side of the story from the employee. We finally get him to go void the transaction and print an actual slip to verify the refund, and he comes back saying "it was never canceled". So essentially the server failed at his job, lied to us to cover himself, and lied to his boss.
Crazy thing. As soon as the manager canceled it, guess what was back in the bank account. The money. Ironic huh?
Integrity was certainly...
Read moreWell I had dinner with my 2 sons! One of my sons n I ordered the 6 oz.. sirloin! The other son ordered the porterhouse pork loin! The sirloin that my son n I received was somewhat tuff to chew! Mine was well done, his medium! Also I dont care for the ranch dressing, bc of the spicey flavor in it! Even the mac n cheese had that spicey taste! Some may like that taste, but guess what, some of us dont like it! So why not have some of both, spicey and not spicey! So when the young man came around and asked if everything taste good, I said ,no! He wanted to know what was wrong, n I told him it was the steak! His reply, well I'm sorry about that! He could plainly see all the steak of mine wasn't eaten! Apparently Outback doesn't care if the customer is satisfied or not, bc the young man, didn't return! So if I eat there again, n im not sure if we will! You can believe I won't order the tuff steak! For the price I paid for a 6oz sirloin it should have been so tender it would melt in my mouth! Keep serving food like that n you may lose business! One last thing, the waiter wasn't to concerned about the customer either, at least for me, he brought refills on colas to my son's, but never asked if I'd like a refill, and since it was getting watered down, I had to ask for a fresh cola, n when he finally brought it to me, it looked as if the ice was melted some bc it was at the top of the glass! He checked on some of his customers more frequent then others! When he brought our bread, we had to ask for plates to put it on! When he brought them, we didn't use them, bc they didn't look clean! We just put them aside n never said anything to him! So I was very dissatisfied with the whole...
