When I think back to my childhood, my memories of my Grandpa, Grandma and family are always there. Back in the time when you planned your Branson lodging based on the show you were seeing, because after the show mini-golf and go-carts were in order before even thinking about driving on 76, walking distance was key. Back so long ago, my family was blessed to welcome Homer Lee (Terry Wayne Sanders) into our life. His humor touched my adolescent heart and will ever be in my memories. At the time he was performing at The Wilkinson’s, one of the “Founding” families of Branson. I say this to thank and invite you all to CJ Newsom’s Classic Country and Comedy. Read moreThe other reviews of this show had us very excited to see it. Unfortunately, I found myself waiting impatiently for it to be over. Don’t get me wrong, this show might be right for some, I just might not be the right audience. Slap stick comedy was mentioned in other reviews, so I expected the over the top reaching humor, but it was hard to enjoy. The music was the saving grace. CJ, her back up singers, and band were all very talented. Unfortunately, for a show that is centered around music, their sound system is tired and the acoustics of the theater are rough. The comedian’s fast cadence is hard to understand through the muffled speakers and the talent-filled vocals are lost in redlined competing sound system.
