If I could give this little gem more stars, I totally would! I first discovered this place when I was in college (a few years ago 😉), my college friends and I always had a blast here! The servers dress in 50's clothing and are always so fun and kind! Then, once I got married, this was always our go to for my husband and I. We always, ALWAYS get the cakes and cream supreme. It's a freshly made to order funnel cake, super soft with just the right crunch, topped with a big scoop of ice cream of your choice and then the topping of your choice and powdered sugar. Finished off with whipped cream and cherries. This. Is. Heaven. Now, we bring our kiddos here and it's their favorite ice cream place as well! Here's the best part about this place, it was a tiny place when I first started coming here, they added on a patio section, then enclosed it with glass patio doors later on. Now, it's an actual room and they have added a game room on the back, which my boys LOVE. What's better than ice cream and video games!? My point is, the owners have managed to expand and keep up with the times without changing the feel or integrity of this place, that's a tough thing to do and they've done it successfully! Although they are widely known for their ice cream, be sure to check out their food menu, it too is amazing, a couple of our favorites are the pulled pork sandwich and the frito pie. As many times as I've been here, I have NEVER had a bad experience, do check it out!!! Hats off to these owners and...
Read moreIf I could give this zero stars, I would. After ordering, we stood in line to pay for 15 minutes, but there was no one checking out. There were 5 employees standing around not doing anything, and they told us they didn't know why the cashier was not up front but they couldn't help. "That's not my job." At the time we ordered, there was only 1 family ahead of us. By the time we stood there not moving for 15 minutes, the line was out the door. Our order came up about 10 minutes in, so we asked again if we could pay and eat so our food doesn't get cold. After 15 minutes, they told us to go to the other register, but then once we got to the front of that line, they refused to serve us. The lady actually said she could not hand us our food and that "it could either get cold over there or on the counter" in front of us because we hadn't paid. Not one time did they apologize. I mean, do they have no empathy? They wouldn't serve us because we had a valid complaint? We were not rude (up until that moment), we asked again and again in that 15 minutes if just SOMEONE could check us out. I will never return and I will tell every single person I know to NEVER eat here. I worked in food service and can tell you you have terrible work flow, with employees standing around doing nothing. Terrible experience....
Read moreHad high expectations for this place after reading the reviews. The Missouri people are by nature are curt, but not rude. This place has no signage or clear details of how it works. This is a tourist town, so people should expected to NOT know how things work. When we walked in we went to the counter but could only see the ice cream menu and then the cakes menu, in-between the two there are the burger options, while looking we had a very sour rude person asking us if we were ready, after confirming we needed a moment she stood behind the counter and just stared at us. Once we figured out what we were having, she spouted things at us like we should've already had told her, such as things we wanted with or on, our sandwich. The menu doesn't say it comes with anything it has a sandwich and then an option with fries. Had we not been stared at like idiots we may have figured it out. The food was marginal at best. The pulled pork had a strange flavor like reminiscent of a manwich flavor. The patty melt was not a true patty melt it was a burger with onions. I will say, "Had I rated the fries alone, it would've been a 5 star, for sure." After that, we decided to go to a nicer(friendlier) place for our sweet fix. SHOULDVE WENT TO MELS DINER FOR SURE, I'd skip this place knowing...
