Branson Hollywood's Wax Museum is a great place to take the kids and friends to skip down the path of the celebrity wAlk of fame so to speak. The figures or somewhat look a likes fAvor the host celebrity a lot in facial likeness and in physical stature and size.
The King Kong photos at the beginning are reAlly a fun thing to have. This is the 2nd time my family and I have been there and it did not disappoint. We went 10 years ago and on this trip I realised that the whole attraction inside had changed. The museum was greAt back 10 years ago and has updated and made everything different. They have put all new celebrates in the viewing line up. I do like the outside of the museum. It has such a great look when coming up to it with the Giant King Kong Gorilla. However I did miss seeing the Wizard of Oz Characters in the Museum. If I could suggest to the owners of the Museum they should put the Wizard of OZ characters back in and they should be a mainstay - all generations of humanity have and will be familiar with these characters for generations to come.
So, for the most part- The Wax Museum, It is a little pricey, but you do get a bang for your buck.
To get the most out of the museum you need to slow down and absorb the atmosphere. There are sounds and angles to each exhibit that you can enjoy while reading A small plaque for each figure.
Now your experience can last from 15 minutes to hours depending on how you want to get your moneys worth and the length of your thrill. You can run through the museum - don't literally run please, meaning walk straight through just looking at figures or you can stay at each exhibit and absorb it's atmosphere. You will get the most from the museum if you take your time. Plus it is cool inside on a hot sunny dY or dry inside on a wet rainy day. Any way you visit is a win with your trip to the Branson Hollywood Wax Museum.
So as we say on TULSA LIVE - " Come and get you some...
Read moreWe purchased the All Access Pass. We did not bring kids along, but it is kid friendly. All four areas are connected, but you do have to walk outside to switch between some of them. We started with the wax museum. There were numerous exhibits that had props to take pictures with. There is an optional monster section with a shortcut in case you have small kids who would be scared. You take professional pictures when you first enter the wax museum, and they ask you to buy them as you leave. However, you can take as many pictures as you want on your own device. We did wish there were more exhibits. We went through Hannah's House of Mirros next. It begins with a story that you read on the wall as you climb the stairs. Then you enter the actual maze. It is slightly difficult even for adults, but we saw some older kids going through as we were circling around different sections of mirrors. We did the Castle of Chaos game next. This game is in 5D. You have a choice between two games. We did the Carnival one (which is scarier and not best for children). There is another one that is appropriate for children. It was a very fun game, and we plan to play again! The chair you are in moves and the air blows to make you feel like you are there. You also have 3D glasses. We saved the mini-golf for last. They have 18 holes plus a bonus one that decides what kind of star you are. It was very enjoyable since the weather was nice.
Overall, the AllAccess pass is definitely worth the...
Read moreThis is the first "wax museum" I've gone to, as I've always thought of them as kind of tacky. BUT, I was pleasantly surprised! This was done very well, with some really good figures. The rules are "don't touch the hands or the face", but they have multiple places you can dress or hold props, or be part of the "scene" being depicted for photos, so that makes it more fun. They've got a good mix of new and old, male and female...and alien...and horror characters and monsters, etc. Speaking of, the one thing I'd recommend is a way to bypass entirely the "horror movie" figures. I'm sure I'm not alone in this - I have a daughter that's old enough that she knows many of the figures, but still young enough that they really scare her. After some prodding and pushing, I got her to hold my hand, stare at the stairs and floor and run through the "dungeon scene". That being said, I don't know if that would even be possible, but the only other option would be to go back out the way we came, and then see if they'd let us go backward into the end of the museum. There may not be any way to arrange it differently. Overall, it was a fun experience, and the "combo ticket" which includes the "Castle of Chaos" (interactive 4d movie/ride thing), the mini-golf, and the mirror maze, was well worth the cost...
