This is a very pretty spot right in the middle of Breckenridge. If you're taking the gondolas from the city center up to the ski areas, this is the beautiful spot of wilderness in between the neighborhoods that you will see looking down. Some things to know before you go: Google Maps will direct you into a neighborhood where there is no parking. In fact, there is no street parking throughout most of Breckenridge. So to visit this place, in the summertime, you can park at the Nordic Center for free. In the winter, you will need to pay for parking. The nature of this park is more like a green belt than a destination site. There is a wetland / beaver meadow, and numerous small trails throughout the preserve. We particularly enjoyed the wide variety and abundance of wildflowers in...

This is listed as a loop trail but when we went the trail was closed about half way around. We had a choice to turn around or take a road next to the preserve and what turned between a housing area being built next to preserve. This turned out to be about 2 + miles part of which was up Ski Hill Rd after we located ski hill road using our GPS. Suggestion just turn around if part of...

It took us a while to find as the directions are not completely clear and the wifi in the area is hit and miss, but it was worth the trouble. Eventually we learned to take the Gondola to the top and work our way down and we are so glad we did. The views are incredible at every turn and the photo opportunities are endless. We were on a quest to see wildlife and were fortunate to happen upon a majestic Moose resting under a tree, a couple of Mule Deer and a Beaver! It was an incredible day and a highlight...
