I planned a surprise proposal on the snowcat tour, and the team at the Nordic Center was amazing to work with and helped a lot with the planning.
Our driver, Jay, is truly one of the kindest people I've ever met. We couldn't be more grateful for him! Not only did he expertly drive us to the perfect spot, but he also went above and beyond in so many ways.
When we had to move our original proposal date because my fiancé was sick and the photographer wasn’t available, Jay immediately offered to help look for a replacement. The photographer he found for us turned out to be the best! We loved working with her, and the photos turned out amazing! That relieved a lot of the stress, and we are so grateful for that.
Beyond that, Jay captured a video of the proposal and over 400 photos of us—despite us already having a photographer—just because he wanted to make sure we had some shots right away and a video of the moment. His kindness and thoughtfulness truly made all the difference.
Jay surprised us with champagne and coordinated everything so we wouldn’t ruin the surprise. He kept the whole experience stress-free and fun, and we had an absolute blast with him.
Jay is genuinely one of the sweetest and most thoughtful people we’ve met. We are so grateful for everything he did to make our special day even more memorable. If you’re lucky enough to have Jay as your driver, you’re in...
Read moreWe visited the Breckenridge Nordic Center for the first time last week to try Nordic skiing, and loved it from the moment we arrived, but we had no idea how amazing our experience would be. Since we’ve only skied cross-country or downhill, we signed up for a lesson. Best decision ever.
WOW! Our instructor, Jim, was absolutely incredible. From the moment we met him, he was friendly, kind, patient, and professional—not to mention a highly skilled instructor. This was my first time on any skis since breaking my ankle on Peak 8 in February 2024, and I was nervous. But Jim took such great care of us, helping me ease back into skiing at my own pace. He knew exactly how to break things down in a way that felt manageable and encouraging, giving me the confidence to push past my fears on my terms.
By the end of the lesson, I wasn’t just skiing—I was having fun again. I think I may actually end up liking Nordic skiing more than downhill! This is all thanks to Jim’s expert guidance, patience, and ability to make every moment feel safe and exciting. I can’t wait to come back and learn more. If you’re considering a lesson, ask for Jim—you won’t regret it! Maybe we'll see...
Read moreI'm a longtime Alpine skier who had never tried Nordic skiing before. I figured I would give it a try on a brutally cold day, since Nordic skiing is supposed to be much warmer. It is, and I was warm all day even though the temperature never exceeded 5 degrees.
This place is a great place to try the sport. You get a lesson, rental gear, and pass for about $90, which is half of what you'll pay for your lift pass alone at Breckenridge. Steph is an awesome teacher, she had me up and running in about 45 minutes, and extended the hour long lesson to about an hour and a half as she skied along with me and offered occasional tips. She was able to use my alpine skiing background to tailor the lesson, speeding through skills I could transfer over and focusing on ones I had to learn from scratch.
After the lesson, I had a great time exploring the many miles of trails on my own, and was even able to take a black diamond run on my first day. I came into the day not knowing if I would enjoy Nordic skiing, and the great team at the Breckenridge Nordic Center have made a lifelong Nordic...
