The furniture seemed solid initially, but the support wore as fast as other brands that had cost much less. Upon calling them about it, and their warranty, they sent somebody to check it out. He simply pressed on it with his hands and bounced on it. Nothing to mechanically measure the PSI, simply "opinion". He said it looked fine but clearly there was a big difference from on side of the couch to the other. I commented on how difficult it is to get up from it to which his explanation was that I was older now than when I first purchased it. I showed him the wore side and again, he said this was normal. I then sat in the other side and showed him to which he had no explanation at all, other than to say "well you don't sit on the end much". Which actually was completely false. He said cushions start out more firm and settle out over a year or so. Well, its been well over a year so the cushions should feel similar and it's not even close. My wife provided a response to them and she never heard back. So while spending thousands of dollars sounded good because of the warranty and customer service, it's a complete joke and you're better off going to Colders and getting something decent for half the price that will last just as long. We referred customers there, who in fact also purchased furniture, which I now regret. We planned in buy more furniture there but based in this experience, it would be a complete waste of money knowing the longevity and support...
Read moreUpdate: We were pleasantly surprised to be contacted by the store. They were apologetic and offered to see what they could do to fix our chair and they did follow through. The chair was fixed in a way that was better than originally done. We are pleased with the chair, their kindness and understanding. Many thanks. (End of update)I realize we bought this chair at the clearance center,( not the store I am doing this review under, but there is no other choice)but we thought buying some dining chairs from Penny Mustard would mean some decent quality. We have had these chairs three years. Last night, my husband pushed his chair back and ended up on the floor. The front two legs collapsed. My husband does woodworking and said this is the worst workmanship he has ever seen. There is no glue, no screws, no nails. The legs are held on by three staples each. Had we known this, we could have just gone to IKEA. My husband wasn't hurt, but could have been. Even if these weren't made in the USA, we would expect Penny Mustard to buy furniture that wouldn't potentially hurt a person. Incidentally, this chair is rarely used, so it's not like it's been sat on everyday. I know this isn't for the store listed, but it is one in Wisconsin where...
Read moreExcellent experience! We had been looking for a new recliner sofa and just could not find what we had in mind. We were in the area & stopped into the Brookfield location. Derek greeted us right away and proceeded to show us numerous options. He was very knowledgeable and explained how we could get the look we wanted by customizing the pieces. There were so many options, but he narrowed everything down based on what we had described & came up with a great solution. We were able to bring home different leather swatches in order to select the best option for our home. Derek was very responsive when we reached out with questions and always communicated the processes clearly. We were pleasantly surprised that the customized piece was very competitive in price with other sofas that we had been considering, but the quality of Penny Mustard’s was significantly better. Even though there were other Penny Mustard locations closer to our home, we continued to drive the extra miles to be able to work with Derek on our purchase. Should the need arise, we will definitely reach out to Derek again for our...
