Extremely disappointed in management. We came in to buy some yarn and a few other items. While shopping, we noticed the Gildan Softstyle crewnecks marked at $24.99 and decided to grab one. At self-checkout, I accidentally scanned the crewneck twice. I asked an employee, Aimie, to help correct it. While she was clearing the extra scan, we both noticed the system showed the crewneck on sale, marked down from $24.99 to $12.49.
However, once one of the duplicates was removed, the sale price disappeared. Aimie noticed this as well and thought it was odd. Since we originally planned to spend $25 on one, we decided to grab a second one at the discounted price. But after rescanning the same crewneck, the system no longer showed the discount.
Aimie called her manager over. The manager briefly looked at the register and the signage near the crewnecks, but claimed that since âshe didnât personally see the sale price, there was nothing she could do.â Aimie, who had clearly witnessed it herself, wasnât acknowledged or taken seriously by the manager. It was frustrating to see a customer and an employee both disregarded simply because the manager hadnât seen it firsthand, especially considering she had just come from the back.
If she doesnât trust her employees to handle these situations or back up what they witness, perhaps she should be at the front of the store instead of leaving them to deal with customers alone.
In the end, we didnât purchase either crewneck because at that point it felt like we were getting jipped . Weâll take our $10 to Amazon rather than pay $12.49 or $24.99 at Michaelâs after this experience. Disappointing and avoidable.
Aimie was fantastic, and we appreciate her for trying. The manager was who we had...
Read moreThere was a 40% off discount if you ordered online. This is usually honored in store. They insisted that I order online to get all of the products I already had in my cart at the register. Even though I was a bit bothered, I understood that it is a policy for the store. I then ordered all my things through the online app while standing next to the in store register with my objects with my 1 year old daughter. I was informed that it would take 20 minutes to receive the order through their system for me to take my items. Again, while being a bit bothered I patiently waited in my car for an additional 20 min (40 min) and wandered around the store to give them extra time. I then was told to call the Michaels help desk to resolve the issue. I then made the call and it was still unclear what was the best option to resolve my issue to simply get my items that were right in front of me that I already paid for online at this point. After two hours of waiting and then getting noticeably upset, finally the manager said, âWe will just honor the 40% discountâ âŚ. Which is what I asked for 2 hours prior. This was a ridiculous waste of time as I was waiting with my toddler. Why didnât they honor it two hours ago? So frustrating. Next time, I will go to...
Read moreI usually go to the New Berlin location but what I was looking for was out of stock. I made the extra trip to Brookfield because online it showed they had the item I was looking for in stock. I was unable to find it when I arrived. After walking around the store a few times, I FINALLY found an employee and asked for assistance. They used their scanner to verify they had the item in stock, which they did. However it wasnât where it said it was so they gave up helping me search. I was extremely disappointed with that. I found a few other things to purchase (trying to make the trip worthwhile) and when I get to the checkout, the cashier was very distracted. Talking to other cashiers, tried to avoid scanning my coupons, didnât bag any of my items - and when I asked her to, she just threw everything into the bag which resulted in a big tear down the side which made bagging neat pointless. Lesson learned - Iâll stick with the New...
