I cannot give enough praise to the experience I had dining here yesterday. Walking in, the ambiance was beautiful, yet comfortable, and our server was excellent. For drinks, we started with the Basil Martini - I was skeptical at first, as I'd never had something like it before, but I was hooked on the first sip. The basil comes from their own garden, and the drink was as fresh as it was refreshing. It has perhaps become my new favorite martini - I savored every sip and it left me craving another.
Now the food - nothing I had was anything less than excellent. We started with the olives and calamari. Normally, I am not a huge fan of olives, but these were incredible, and were a great accompaniment to our meal. The calamari was also excellent, perfectly cooked, in a flavorful sauce.
When it came time to order a main dish, the chef, Gus, was extremely accommodating to my dietary needs. I can't eat cream, and he was able to prepare the gnocchi dish in brown butter instead of the traditional cream sauce, as well as a butternut squash risotto. I cannot begin to say which one I enjoyed more - the flavors were complex and perfect, and my friends and I spent the entire meal raving about the food. The portions were, I felt, generous, and I brought home leftovers (which I am actively excited to eat!). For dessert, we ordered the Georgia Peach, which was as tasty as it was beautiful. Not too sweet, nor too heavy, it was the perfect way to end our meal.
Overall, our meal here was nothing short of perfect. I look forward to returning for more Gnocchi, and of course another...
Read moreIt was amazing. So fresh, so new, so inviting and pleasant. All the staff were friendly and nice. Julie, is hilarious, fun, knowledgeable and as she said, "been there for a hundred years". We laughed, we looked, we exercised, it was fantastic. She showed us every possibility. We even met Chris the general manager. Although he's new you'd never tell. Every inch of that place smelled good and was immaculate and they're in the middle of a remodel and painting. There's a pool on the 3rd floor that shows off the king and queen towers. Very spacious dining rooms, ballrooms and outdoors. There are 2 garden areas, one with a bridge and 2 waterfalls and the other is a circle. Amazing chandeliers everywhere, wonderful artwork on every floor and its hidden away in the Brookhaven/Chamblee-Dunwoody area. Plenty of stores, Perimeter mall is close by, lots of places to dine and entertain yourself or a group. They even have a shuttle to take you to the Marta (rail/bus) station. Parking ranges from $6-17 depending on your length of stay and if you valet. There's a wheelchair lift and handicapped bathroom stalls. On-site they also have a bistro and a salon. The food was great. Just no sweet tea y'all but everything down to the bread pudding was delicious. Check out my videos and pictures...
Read moreThe most abysmal meeting experience I have ever encountered. I have spent as much time in a meeting related industry as I have spent in Atlanta, nearly 41 years. I have been in more hotels, meeting facilities and convention centers in my career than I care to tally up. Never have I experienced the level of unprofessional behavior, apathy and ineptitude I was subjected to at this property. Rest assured however, I will be going out of my way to warn everyone to stay away from this venue when considering planning their next meeting or private event. It’s a buyer’s market out there. Customers should go where their business is appreciated and where their worth as a valued client is genuinely respected.
There are plenty of hotels to choose from. No paying customer need ever suffer the abject abuse and disservice a hotel sales member put our staff through. If I treated my customers with such low regard and I would be out of a job and out of business. This is precisely where this uncongenial employee should be. I hope Hyatt corporation is reading...
