Rooms To Go has been THE worst furniture buying experience I have ever had. I completed by purchase for a bed set online on August 17, 2020 and my delivery scheduled for Friday September 4, 2020. I moved into my new apartment on that date and the bed was scheduled to arrive on that date for my kids to sleep. On September 3, 2020, I was given a time frame text from Rooms To Go which was listed as 1pm-4pm. On Friday September 4, 2020, I waited at the new apartment expecting their arrival. Around 3pm after not hearing from them, I checked the tracking portal and time was updated to "5pm to 9pm' as my new expected delivery time. I waited the rest of the evening without complaint, because I know things can get behind. At approximately 7:30Pm I received a phone call from Rooms To Go dispatch stating that they would now NOT BE ABLE to deliver my order. The dispatch lady advised that "our truck broke down and we are not able to deliver your bed.I asked her if it could be delivered tomorrow (Saturday September 5, 2020) and she told me no, because they were going to be close. I then asked could it be delivered Monday September September 7,2020 and again told me no they could not do it because they don't deliver on a holiday (Labor Day). I then asked if she could put me in contact with a supervisor as this was now an urgent matter because my family would now have to sleep on hardwood floors for days. She told me that she could not connect me to a supervisor but " would put it in the notes" and have a supervisor call on Saturday. Ultimately, me and family slept on the floor. I was never provided with a new delivery date as I waited until the following Tuesday for the company to reach out to me. SOOO on Wednesday September 7,2020, I got ahold of another customer rep and I told her I would like a refund on my purchase. She then went to look at the previous notes on the account and told me that there were notes left on my account from Friday September 4,2020. These notes left by the representative stated that "customer upset, wishes to speak to supervisor. Bed was not delivered and that the reason why was because I WAS NOT HOME!!!! SO now I'm even more livid because the rep from Friday had the audacity to lie and imply that me not having a bed was MY FAULT. At this point, I tell the lady that I need my refund for sure and she transfers for me to "some department" which I wait on hold for 2 hours and was NEVER ASSISTED by anyone in regards to my refund!!! I have CONSTANTLY CALLED customer service for the past TWO WEEKS only to be left on hold and not provided any assistance ! I have never dealt this level of poor performance. I JUST WANT MY MONEY BACK AND TO MOVE ON WITH MY LIFE. I WILL NEVER SPEND ANOTHER DOLLAR WITH THIS COMPANY. I guess I will leave an update once I finally hear from someone and actually see the funds placed back into my account. Not a single employee has reached out to since Wednesday September 7th and I find it crazy that my bed it sitting around somewhere and not one manager is concerned as to why its not delivered to the person who has paid their funds for it. Read moreI walked into RTG on December 14th to purchase a bed to furnish my guest room. I was greeted by a sales associate by the name of Oakley. I really wanted to browse around to see the bed I was looking at online in-person (Bradley Gry 3pc Queen Upholstered Bed). Oakley, the sales rep had no knowledge of the bed I was interested in and proceeded to show me other beds in the color I wanted. I told him I am not looking to spend over $1,000 for a bed set because I only needed a bed for my guest room which was pretty simple, he smirked and said the bed is only $299, I said I am aware of that and that's what I want to spend, again this is for a guest room (not that it was any of his business). I immediately wanted to leave and I guess he sense that and he left me alone to walk the store to find what I walked in to purchase. I found the bed head in white and told him this is what I want in Gray, he said it does not come in that color, I pulled out my phone and showed it to him in that color, again he said well the bed is only $299 with a nasty smirk which was beyond rude and very unprofessional. Why have a bed in your show room for sale but make nasty remarks to a customer who wants to purchase it? I told him I would purchase it online since it's sitting in my cart he said he can help if I was ready to make a purchase which I did. During transaction he started to be a little more friendlier when he noticed my work badge and questioned what type of work I do. He was trying to get me to purchase a mattress set which was on sale, but His attitude deterred me from ever wanting to do business with RTG PERIOD! He had no knowledge about the bed and that a bunkie (foundation) board was required. The bed was delivered on December 30th right on time, however the delivery guys brought the bed in and said "customer assembly" I said absolutely not I paid for it to be delivered and assembled so I told them to take the bed back and I would call RTG to request a full refund. The delivery guy then said "no need we can put it together for you it would only take me 10 minutes and the bed is not too hard for a customer to do it themselves". Again very rude and unprofessional he had a drill gun which was used to put the screws in, did he think most customers would randomly have this at their homes? I was so upset and disgusted. The other guy who was with the one who put the bed together asked if he can have a banana, I gave it to him because it's only food, but it is very unprofessional to go to a customer’s house and ask for food. Attached are photos for you to see what I was left with, which doesn't look secured, safe or stable. Needless to say my experience with this purchase cost RTG what could have been a faithful customer. I would have also purchased the lovely dining room set I saw while looking for the bed in the store but I no longer want to spend my money with RTG. Instead of her having to sleep with no bed for a week he has her on the delivery schedule for tomorrow!!! Thanks management!!! We appreciate you Tim/Jim!!! If the Rep would have just passed the call to management once my friend told her we have been waiting hours. As I came back to edit my review and was looking at other reviews seems as if the delivery team is the ones lacking in the customer service area! Five stars to the manager for great resolution!!! We didn’t want money back, we didn’t want an apology we just wanted the furniture! I will be changing my one star experience to Five star to represent Jim/Tim.
If I could give no stars I would! I am not the one who purchased furniture from here but my friend did and I am beyond upset about her experience! She purchased her furniture weeks ago and set a date. She told them she would not be able to get the furniture until the afternoon. They told her the drop off time is generated by a computer system. She kept telling them she would not be there in the morning she would not have her move in key until 2. Her time was generated for 9-2 AM she called and asked could she be the last drop off. The representative told her she was third on the list so she would not be first at 9am. She got permission to get her key at 10:00am to retrieve the furniture. As she was stuck in traffic at 8:50 she gets a call that says her furniture will be there in 5 minutes! This is not what the representative said!!! She asked for them to come after she got her key. The drop off guy said sure he will double back! Needless to say he never did. We waited all day for him he said he would come last and he never did now my friend has to wait another week for her furniture that she paid 536.00 for taxes and delivery for nothing and lies. They need to allow customers to pick drop off times and if they tell you you are third on the list they need to do that! I will NEVER buy anything from rooms to go and I hope everyone reads this and be aware of you are paying five hundred dollars to be told you have no right to choose your drop off times!
