I can't recommend this place. If the one and only thing you need is a place to sleep for the night then it's fine. The bed was fine. The room was fine. Just don't order any food or go to the bar and you'll probably have a good stay.
Nemesis, the front desk woman, was absolutely lovely. Friendly, charming, welcoming.
Other than that everything was pretty terrible. The women's restroom in the lobby was in really bad shape when I arrived in the afternoon and then I used it one last time before leaving in the morning and it looked like someone had vomitted into the trash can last night and instead of being cleaned it just dried up and crusted there. I took a picture for my review but as I'm typing this I've decided to spare you the visual.
Then there's the bar. Justin, the bartender was lovely at first, when there were only a few of us there, but as it got busier he became snippy, rude, and very, very slow. It took an hour and twenty minutes for the woman next to me to get the cheese plate she ordered. She had every right to be upset. She was not rude to him, she simply said "this is going to be comped right?" And he gave a rude response and said he'd have to ask his manager and deflected blame to thé kitchen. She did end up getting it comped. When she left Justin spoke ill of her to other guests. That's really , really rude. The people at the table behind me were loudly complaining that they had asked for the check 20 minutes ago. Once again, at first, when there were only 4 of us in total there, he was lovely. But he changed into a different bartender when it got just a little busy.
I don't live in the US and love a good burger when I visit. Don't make the same mistake as I did. It's just a cheap school lunch burger.
When I had gone to bed for the night the fire alarm went off!!! People from my floor all took it seriously and we rushed down the stairs and out of the building. Several of us were barefooted. But when we got outside we could see the people in the bar and the lobby just hanging out as if the alarm were not sounding. Someone, I think a guest, came out to tell us it was a false alarm and we could go back inside.
Breakfast: the grits weren't cooked properly. They were dry and crunchy. The Internet says I can get a cooked to order meal but there was no one there to do that for me so I did the buffet. It was mediocre, as expected. I should have gone to Waffle House for something equally as mediocre but for less money.
Finally, I was in a rush when I left and when I got to my car I couldn't get out because you need the key to leave. I had to walk back inside to ask for a key so I could get out.
Overall, the one redeeming quality was the nice young woman who checked me in, everything...
Read moreAlthough we are thankful for you guys welcoming us into your hotel, things could have been better. We had higher expectations for Cameron Daniels. You didn’t make the time to come meet and introduce yourself. Omar was asked to alert you, we wanted to speak with you on Friday when you were still at the hotel. You never showed your face. Secondly, Howard was extremely difficult to work with! It seemed like it was his event and not ours. He seemed bothered or agitated when anyone said anything to him or asked anything. His tone to us was very unwelcoming where I stopped going to him and went to other staff to help with what we needed. He gave me push back about everything. On Thursday when we arrived to begin setting up, I asked him about the set up for the banquet because it wasn’t what you and I had discussed. I specifically asked for tables to be outside as well because we didn’t want the family to be separated. He said he didn’t want to put table out there due to how hot it was but he would do it however we wanted and we agreed on the tables outside. The day of the banquet when asked about it, everything changed. I was then told the tables could not be placed outside and that we would have to use the dirty tables that were outside. He then called you, and you were on speaker phone…considering what me and you had discussed about the set up I thought it was very rude and unprofessional for you to say what you said which was something along the lines of “Just tell them no” which still gave him the authority to do what HE wanted and not what the family was asking! During the banquet, one of the kids was singing a song and he ruffled a lot of family members feathers due to a comment that he made saying “Now who would allow their kid to sing a song like that?!” Very unprofessional…the way he down talked the staff if I was them I would’ve felt very unappreciated. The ONLY staff members who were friendly, very helpful and went above and beyond to assist and make sure we were accommodated was Robert and I can’t think of her name, but she’s Mexican and she assisted with the banquet and breakfast. There were metal coolers that one of my cousins provided for beverages that were taken by the staff and no one could tell us where they were. All in all, the experience was bad and we wouldn’t book or...
Read moreOverall, it was a good stay. The room was comfortable and clean. Check in was pretty seamless. The 3-star rating is because the parking is terrible here...there is nothing close to the hotel except handicapped. You have to drive up a big hill and can either park in the deck, or in an open, self-parking lot area. Having twin toddlers, carrying all of our stuff plus the boys (they're not light) on their twin stroller going down that hill was scary to say the least. I was holding on so tightly knowing if I were to accidentally slip or let go of the stroller, Lord only knows what would have happened. They were doing a lot of construction at the hotel, so perhaps this is something they're addressing although I really don't think so based on the layout. I also thought they had complimentary breakfast as most Hilton brand hotels do, but they don't (which they do state clearly, I had just looked at a few hotels in the area and was mistaken); however, they do offer made-to-order breakfast (ages 5 and under free, 12.95 per adult). We didn't get breakfast, but they did have a nice coffee setup on our way out and I prepared a cup which was good. Staff was friendly. Other than the far and steep parking situation, my only other issue was 3 knocks on my door which began prior to 9am. First time, they said "Housekeeping!" and I replied "No thank you!" from bed...although I was irritated because my kids were still asleep and the knock woke them up. If check out is not until 12, why are you coming by prior to 9am asking about housekeeping? Perhaps if I am staying multiple nights, I could understand; however, I was checking out that day (does staff relay this info to the cleaning staff...?). Then I received 2 more knocks and I just yelled "No thanks!". I'm not even sure what they wanted, but it was annoying...AND it was prior to checkout (we left before checkout time). Overall, it's a nice hotel but I don't believe I'll be staying at this location...
