Update as of 6/25/25. I am updating my review. Although I was initially disappointed with the service my brother received on 6/20, I have always loved the food here, which is why I recommend to so many people to come here, including my brother. The issue I had was never the food. It was about the service experience my brother had on 6/20. However, Rob Jackson did call my brother and apologized for the service experience and was vey kind and offered to make it right. I give credit where credit is due and the fact that he called says a lot. Mistakes happen and it’s how we respond to them that matters. And this restaurant did the right thing. The food is great and I believe the issue on that one night will be/has been corrected. The food is great. Give them a try.
6/20/25: My family was visiting me in Atlanta and I recommended to my brother that he order something and pick it up from Louisiana Bistreaux Perimeter. I told him the food was great. So, last night, on June 20 at 8:30, he placed an order to pick up and was advised when it would be ready. He arrived to pick up the order, however, the female working behind the bar provided a less than pleasant experience. Unprofessional. He sat there for 20 minutes without so much as an acknowledgment from her to ask what he wanted or what he was there for. She was too busy talking to other people. He felt he had been patient long enough, so he decided to say something and asked about his order. She looked bothered, as if he was keeping her from something. She said she would go check on it but still wasn’t moving to do so. He said something again, and she said “I’m busy.” So, my brother got up and left. He said he will not go back because that first impression was not good. I called after we left and asked for a manager and was given to a gentleman named Sam. He was nice enough but it still didn’t feel the situation would be addressed seriously.
My brother is the GM of over 30 stores and prides himself on service, so he looks for that in other establishments. He believes every customer/client should be acknowledged and treated with respect and that it’s not merely enough to say a business has a great product or in this case, great food. Service is part of the experience and on this night, the female behind the bar was very unpleasant. I love the food here, and that is why I recommend it.
You don’t always get a second chance to make a first impression, and as I said, service is also part of the experience. I understand people have bad days, but she doesn’t get a pass, telling a customer “I’m busy,” is unprofessional. Even if she was, her response could have been different. My brother won’t experience the food here because he said the service of that employee ruined it for him and that is why he got up and left. Service matters. Respect matters. Kindness matters. Acknowledging your...
Read moreI would normally rate a similar restaurant experience as a two star. But I really want to give them the benefit of the doubt. Based on other reviews, I hope I was just there on an off night.
Traveling to Atlanta for work, dining alone. Had dinner on a Sunday night, the restaurant was not busy. My service was excruciatingly slow from start to finish.
Had the boudin balls as the appetizer and Cajun BBQ shrimp for dinner. The food was okay, but based on my experience, I would not call it authentic New Orleans.
The boudin balls we're a nice size, a lot of cheese, but were a little skimpy on the sausage. I would prefer to have less cheese and more sausage. I don't think that they are made in house. They had the flavor of a frozen product from a supplier. If I'm wrong about that, I apologize.
I was more disappointed in my entree. The Cajun BBQ shrimp was overseasoned. I think they lean in too hard on the Creole seasoning. You miss the whole experience of the umami flavor from the Worcestershire sauce. I will give them credit that the shrimp were decent size. Though the dish wasn't my favorite, I certainly didn't come home hungry.
I was seated quickly on the patio. Sat there for quite a while before any staff came to the table. Once a staff person finally came over, I ordered a cocktail, and put my order in for the boudin balls. The person who took that order mentioned that my server was at the bar. My wonder is that she was having to pull double duty at the bar and serve on the patio, and that's why my service was so slow. The cocktail, the appetizer, and especially my entree each took and an inordinate amount of time to come out. I had been waiting so long for my entree, that when my server passed by, I asked her to bring the check out when she brought my entree out. She forgot to do that. Once I got the check, I was charged for an additional appetizer that I did not order. They did take the error off the check, but it was just one more thing that slowed everything down. All in, it took about an hour...
Read moreI recently had the pleasure of dining at Louisiana Bistreaux restaurant with my family, and I must say it was an exceptional experience from start to finish. From the warm ambiance to the delectable dishes we savored, everything exceeded our expectations.
Firstly, let me commend our server named Breeze. Her attentiveness and knowledge about the menu were impressive; she patiently answered all our questions regarding ingredients and made excellent recommendations based on her expertise and even accommodated our mother who is allergic to shrimp.
Now on to the highlight -the food! As seafood enthusiasts, I couldn't resist trying their famous chargrilled oysters topped with crabmeat as an appetizer. The combination of smoky flavors from grilling along with succulent crabmeat created a heavenly taste sensation that left me craving more.
For mains, I opted for something slightly spicy yet flavorful – sriracha chicken dish. It arrived beautifully presented alongside crispy potatoes. The chicken tenders were fried to perfection. The portions served were generous but not overwhelming.
Throughout dinner service remained impeccable; empty plates disappeared swiftly while refills appeared seamlessly between courses—an indication of well-coordinated service from Breeze.
To complement this memorable feast further, we indulged ourselves by ordering desserts recommended by none other than Breeze herself—the red velvet cheese cake drizzled generously with strawberry sauce melted in your mouth like pure bliss!
In conclusion, if you're seeking authentic Southern cuisine coupled with outstanding service within an inviting atmosphere, Louisiana Bistreaux is undoubtedly worth visiting. The dedication shown by servers such as Breeze was exemplary, and each bite transported us closer to eating in Louisiana. We wholeheartedly recommend this restaurant to anyone looking for an unforgettable culinary experience. Thank you, Louisiana Bistreaux and Breeze for giving us the most memorable experience...
