Five Below — Attraction in Buena Park

The person had said they purchased supplies at 5 Below so I searched & found one in Buena Park on La Palma. I was excited to check out a large store full of items $5 and Below, just as the store advertises. Walked in and so far 5 Below was just that, $5 and below. As I walked around I began to see numerous items at $5.55 and then some $6, $7 and all the way up to $10. What is going on? Pretty soon the false advertising was crystal clear. They get you in the store, with their 5 Below promise, then drop the bomb. While checking prices, I found many of their items are sold at Dollar Tree for $1 or $1.25 depending on the store. Even 99c stores sell items over 99c and better priced than at 5 Below. I did make a purchase of an item I bought at another discount store for $3 and they charged $5. For me, there're too many discount stores to pay elevated prices at Five Below. They get 1 star for neatness and 1 star for a friendly cashier. The remaing 3 stars are lost to...

Nice selection of many different items which are all reasonably priced - as the name implies at $5 or below. My friend is always raving about how the clothes are super comfortable and of course affordable. I took my daughter there to spend some birthday money she had received (she just turned 2 so $5 for a gift is pretty appropriate) and she happily wandered around the store checking out the candy, the stuffed animals, the My Little Pony sets, the sports balls, the nail polishes and makeup (not yet!). She finally narrowed it down, with quite a bit of help from me, to a pink stuffed unicorn. She is very happy with her purchase and now carries it around with her almost everywhere. Really pleasantly surprised with the variety and quality of the merchandise and the employees were all friendly, several of them greeted us as we came in and walked around the store. Interesting store. Saw an ad on our social media feed. Different from 99 cent or dollar places. Some pleasant surprises like current books on the internet that were full price. Here they were $5 here. Wow! We ended up buying three things we needed. The check out process was a bit weird, though. They had 5-7 self checkout kiosks. However only two were in working order. Plus, the associates insisted on helping us scan and pay. Don't get the reason for that. They acted like customers had never seen a self checkout.
