Panda Express — Restaurant in Buena Park

Poorly managed and the food was practically cold by the time it was picked up. Had to wait approximately 15 minutes for them to make extra orange chicken and walnut shrimp. Chow-mein was almost empty and burly made for the 4 plates I asked for. I did get there at 9:20pm and it seemed like they had already stopped making food because most if the staff was getting ready to leave. I asked the server a basic question and she hesitated in answering. I asked what time do they stop making food so I know ahead of time and she asked the manager if the fryer was still on and he raised his shoulders and seemed clueless. The server said it would be about a 10 minute wait for the orange chicken and the walnut shrimp. So I waited since I didn't have time to go somewhere else but when I got back there was very little servings on each of the plates so I asked if I was being punished for complaining about their service and she offered a bit extra and I refused. At this point I realized this place is the worst place I've ever been to and will never return so I took what I had and left. Look the food here is just whatever. It's what you'd expect from fast food pretend Chinese, and so I'd say it deserves a baseline of three stars. It's not bad for what it is, and it isn't trying to be more than what it is, if that makes sense. It's not going to kill you, and it's not going to thrill you either. If you know what to expect from Panda Express, that's exactly what you're getting at this location. Nothing worse, probably not really better either (though, maybe they're paying a little more attention to updating their steam table than most other Pandas, so it might be marginally fresher here). However, this location strongly deserves an extra star because of its friendly and helpful employees. I've been to this location probably three times, and I've been met with a warm, seemingly genuine smile by everyone I have interacted with there. I was very disappointed yesterday when I went to the Panda Express in Buena Park & I learned that they no longer accept & honor the Downtown Buena Park Discount card like they once did there. The discount was only a mere 10%, but nevertheless, the restaurant was TOO CHEAP TO HONOR THIS MEESLEY LITTLE DISCOUNT when it came time to pay for all of the food items that were ordered!! It's soooooo unbelieveable to me that the current Panda Express owner is TOO CHEAP TO HONOR THIS MEESELY LITTLE DISCOUNT TO ITS CUSTOMERS that this establishment once offered to its customers there!!
