I purchased 5 fish on a Wednesday which contaminated my 40 gallon tank with Ich... now less than 2 weeks later all the fish in my tank are dead. I was offfered to reimburse me for the Ich treatment I purchased and a $50 gift card for the inconvenience. I said I would need to think about it. I decided to decline the gift card. I will not shop at that store or any other petsmart again and at this point I dont know if I will be restarting tank. My children are heart broken watching the fish we had for almost 2 years die one by one and having to go into the store is not worth the $5.99 reimbursement on the Ich treatment. I also purchased a 2nd bottle of Ich treatment off Amazon.
I also explained that part of my being upset is that when I went back into the store the same associate that assisted me in picking out the fish was called over to the cashier. Her being the fish specialist and seeing that I had sick fish, you would think someone would want to inspect the tanks but no as soon as she was done identifying the the dead fish from the ones that were still alive in a separate bag, she went back to the back. I was told I should have quarantined the fish...why wouldn't you quarantine them before you sell them?
I will accept part of the responsibility as I didnt know I should have quarantined the fish and I also should have gone with my gut instinct and not purchased fish when there were so many dead fish in your tanks to begin with.
Just be careful! I understand this is something that can happen at any store but the lack of precaution and frustration they have lost any future...
Read moreThis is a good store usually, but their manager, Jorge needs some more training. I had an online order return and had the return email but it did not contain a barcode. The clerk (she’s great btw), tried calling him over a few times for help and you can hear he was making excuses to not come until she finally said “Jorge, I still need you to come.” He slumped over without an introduction. My emails do not have a return barcode and he needed it for a return or else I would get merchandise credit. Even though I had all the emails, he told me to step aside and call customer service for a return label. (As a manager, shouldn’t this be your job to help or find out an answer?) after doing MY OWN research, I found out if you pay with PayPal for an online order, you can only get a merchandise card. Had I been told this by the manager, I would have blamed myself for not reading the terms and conditions and just got the gift card. Please reeducate your managers on return policies/online orders and I think a customer service class would be beneficial. As a manager myself, if someone had all documentation for a proper return and within the proper timeline, I would try to help resolve the issue or find out an answer rather than saying, oh tough luck, go call customer service and walking away with such a...
Read moreAs soon as I walked in, the guy at the register said hello to the guy in front of me and looked at me and gave me a look like he did not want to greet me. I had to ask him for help because there was no one around. I then proceeded to wait with my son for 15 minutes at the agreed location and no one to show. Not to mention there was dog poo all over I went back to ask for help and waited next to him until he finally called for help and I waited for 15 more minutes then a nice lady started helping me. And some other girl shows up and starts saying she knows me. She can't sell me a hamster even though I told her I had two separate enclosures for the new hamster. She insisted I was lying and refused to sell me the hamster, and then me and my son and I had to leave empty-handed, feeling upset... Check the staff they are super relaxed and comfortable, and you will wait a long time to get someone who is judging you for buying a pet...
