The only reason they are getting 1 star is because I love my car (so far…..it’s only been a month) and the Sales Manager at the time was nice after seeing me visibly distressed and so were other employees I encountered. I drove up to VW to checkout my options trading in my Taos to an Atlas because I needed something bigger for traveling. The salesman looked at me like I had no idea what a jump it was and I was, (well I had been doing my research and was fully aware.) Since I had gotten my Taos back in June I still owed quite a bit, he said I needed to buy something more expensive to cover it when I told him I wanted to buy an older atlas. I told him my credit score and asked what options there were for me and he insisted he couldnt tell me anything until he ran my credit. ( Mind you, our whole 3-4 hour interaction he has his airpods in and is constantly talking to other people taking other calls. Just the level of respect is not there AT ALL.) Anyways, he ran my credit I didnt like any of the options they had and I was trying to leave. He wouldnt let me leave. He asked me “why did you drive up here over an hour if you werent going to buy a car?” “Why would you let me run your credit if you werent actually going to buy?” Talking down on me like I was stupid. I felt like crying. They wouldnt let me leave and thats when they pulled up with my car as a final plea I suppose. It worked, I loved it and it was within my budget so I decided on it. I told him I would only buy it if they would go back and fix some of the missing paint and he said they would. He told me to pick it up the next day and it would be serviced and detailed for me. I am provided with 0 paperwork as I’m walking out and told it will be emailed (never comes). Next day comes wipers are broken and one is missing completely. Has not been cleaned or touched on the inside. I’m missing my privacy cover in the back which had been listed on the listing for this car online, they tell me I have to buy it. (Another $300) Lots of promises not kept it felt like. He tells me I have to make an appointment for the paint touch up. I left in actual tears this time because I felt like I had been scammed and just treated like crap, and I was clearly just a sale. It’s one of those things you would have to live through it to truly understand. I work in sales and the treatment I recieved was terrible. He told me he “owed me a tank of gas and a detail” (promises that never came) My mistake coming alone as a young woman I suppose. I drove up last month on a day he claimed to make my appointment to fix my paint and he said they couldn’t do it because of rain and to reschedule, AFER I drove over an hour up there (He also told me the car I traded in had so many issues and had to be auctioned off and asked if I knew about them? No? but it’s listed on the website for sale?!?! Felt like everything was just a lie) They didnt pay off my car completely as promised because they “miscalculated” which apparently is common? So I had to come out of pocket to cover the rest owed on my car. As for the promised paint job, We rescheduled for today, March 4. I made sure my day was clear so I could honor the appointment he claimed to have made for me weeks ago. I messaged him this morning before heading out because I didnt want to waste a drive once again. He tells me to reschedule for next week bc he is on vaca. He’s a salesman, what does it have to do with him? LOL. I work full time and run my own business, I don’t have free time like that. I keep getting the run around CONSTANTLY and told him I’m over it. He then said to bring it up today and drop it off and pick it up tomorrow. Cant do it bc I have work tomorrow and I live an hour away and no ride home. Mind you, these are just little chips. Nothing that should require that kind of time and it something that should have been discussed and understood. I work full time and cant just call out and after this many disappointments I rather just pay for it and be treated well!! Its worth the money to not deal with this...
Read moreBy far, the worst experience I’ve had; I don’t write reviews often, but I want everyone else to know to be cautious when visiting this place, or to just go to another VW dealership in the area. I want their unethical/dishonest business practices to be put out for everyone to be aware, so others can save valuable time and money. Long story short, I had a clutch issue with my Jetta. I had it towed to VW MOG after I broke down nearby. I was told it would take around 3 weeks for it to even be looked at and diagnosed (no worries). I was told it would be another week or two to fix the issue after they thought they knew what was wrong (they didn’t know what was wrong). So, I go to pick the car up eventually, and not even 20 minutes after leaving, I break down and barely make it to a shop by my house. The local shop looked at it and within a day they called me and told me what was wrong. It was the clutch master cylinder/slave cylinder. VW MOG installed a breather assembly (complete waste of $800 and time). I went back to VW, not to ask for a refund, but to just courteously let them know what the issue was so that if someone else came in with the same issue, they would be able to better assist them and to not waste time and money like I did. The service advisor I had worked with understood and wanted to give me a complementary oil change my next visit (I wasn’t looking for anything in return, he gave me a voucher out of kindess. Time goes on, and I finally want to use this oil change voucher (I was living in VA during all of this, and I happened to be home in GA at the time). The service advisor had since left the dealership (the only good guy I worked with there), so I was told by the service manager that he wouldn’t honor it. The one thing I had counted on that they could honor through this whole fiasco, a simple oil change, didn’t mean anything now. There had been an expiration date, for any voucher, that wasn’t explained to me. But he ended up giving me half off. Still, their initial promise wasn’t upheld. So, now I want a refund for everything, which is what I should’ve asked for as soon as I broke down on the way home that day. A refund for the pointless and useless “repair” I waited weeks for. So, I contact the dealership, and I cannot get a hold of the guy (the service manager) to save my life. I finally go in and politely confront him in person and he agrees to refund me. Days go by, and I haven’t heard anything from him. I give people the benefit of the doubt in hopes they do what they say they’re going to do; Be a man of their word. I end up moving to another state due to military orders, and I still cannot get a hold of the service manager (I won’t state their name out of respect), even after numerous amounts of phone calls are made, voicemails are left… nothing. He made one phone call to me, which I’m assuming was an attempt to uphold his end of the resolution, that I missed from not being near my phone at the moment, and he was never to be heard from again. He didn’t even leave me a voicemail. The fact I had to initially walk in, in-person to confront this man, was a sign of how our future interactions would turn out, and his character overall. Which was him disappearing when it was time for the dealership to hold up their end of the resolution. It’s a shame that a customer’s time and money was wasted due to the service team’s lack of ability to correctly diagnose and repair an issue with a vehicle, and it’s an even bigger shame that they’ll get away with conducting unethical business practices in not keeping a promise. For everyone else’s sake, I hope I’m the only one who will ever have to experience. It was a shock to me because I’ve had nothing but good experiences from other VW dealerships (Marietta, and Kearny Mesa out in San Diego, to name a few), but VW MOG is not a good representation of customer service nor vehicle servicing. And the service manager has still not followed through on their promise, but sadly, they’ll get away with it in the end. Extremely...
Read moreStay away! I had made an appointment for 4pm on October 9th and arrived shortly before 4. The salesman went to grab a bite to eat and came in about 4:30. No big deal. I'm ready to see the car and he told me it was being transferred from another dealership and should arrive by 6. He confirmed my 4pm appointment! Aggravating. Did the walk around and test drive. Found the odometer 400 miles more than advertised. Just fine, let's do paperwork. Finally out by 8:30. Texted the salesman in the morning October 10th for an eta and he responded "am about to start coming" but no time. After an hour without hearing from him i left work to head home. My wife called and said the car was delivered. I arrived home to find that salesman dropped off the car and left without notification. I noticed there was damage from the taillight all the way down to the bumper and a large screw in the tire that was not there the previous night and called immediately. "Jon" at the dealership let me know that all minor cosmetic damage is fixed before a car sells and after looking at the pictures and video I sent him agreed that it needs to be fixed. Salesman responded with "sorry boss. If you have a day off you can bring it in". I let him know that I can bring it in and just cancel the sale. Within 2 minutes his boss called and let me know they will pick it up and give me a loaner and fix everything. October 11th loaner had trash in front and back and trunk. "alex" likes chick filet and they took the car back. Several texts back and forth noting screw in tire and rear damage as well as side mirror damage (I didn't notice but salesman brought it up and said they would fix). Asked when it will be fixed. Responded "it will be done before Friday" October 16th. Started getting emails from Fredrick in financing asking for me to email a picture of my social security card for the bank loan. He started they do not have a secure method and to just email it over or the bank will reject the application. I let him know to find another bank and I will absolutely not be emailing over an image of my card, especially with all the data breaches happening. I had him put me in direct contact with the underwriter and he 100% agreed that it was not safe to email such a document. What he wanted was a clearer loan application. All their loan applications are done by hand and not digitally. Received a blank application and filled it out, again. After i started texting again on Saturday October 19th. Salesman let me know all they need is to detail the car and for me to send a copy of my social security card. Let him know all was straightened out and they do not need my social security card and I will be there by 4. Arrived to find that all they did was fix the dent and a little paint. The side mirror wasn't fixed, the taillight was still cracked, bumper looked worse from their "repairs" and the screw was sill in the tire!!!!! At this point I said "fine, give me a refund and take the car back" and I will find a way for me and my daughter to get back home. Now thay say "it's been 9 days since you bought the car, you can't return it"!!!!!!!!! No integrity No honesty No best practices No solutions And no, I don't think that calling the general manager on Monday will fix the lousy excuse for a dealership.
Updated 10-21-2024. Called the dealership to speak with the general manager like the response asked me to do. THERE IS NO GENERAL MANAGER!!! I'll let the BBB handle it...
