Tropical Smoothie Cafe — Restaurant in Buford

My fiancé and I went here to try it out since so many people come to my store (Smoothie King) and say it’s awesome! I’m all for trying other brands ! Let me be the first to say that it’s disgusting . The smoothie taste itself isn’t bad, but the store I went to in Buford, does NOT wash their blenders. From managing a smoothie king, we wash our blender bowls every 3-4 hours PER DAY. They are extremely clean. We scrub the inside and bottom with soap and use a magic eraser to get any other bacteria built up to insure we are giving the best tasting quality drinks and HEALTHY. Tropical smoothie has built up fruit mold on the INSIDE and BOTTOM of their blender bowls. It is by far the WORST I have EVER SEEN. I purchased my smoothie and I didn’t see this until after I received my smoothie. I threw it away immediately after. I do not recommend this place to anyone because you can get sick from all the built up bacteria and mold. They need new management or corporate needs to make changes fast before people get sick. My stomach hurts from seeing that. It is unhealthy and a health violation. I would like a refund because that was definitely not worth any...

I threw out my receipt accidentally but I did want to give a special thank you to CJ and Laura who made my day. I was having a super frustrating day and came to get my kids their favorite food and smoothie and my youngest child drops his entire smoothie all over the floor in the middle of the restaurant. I literally could've cried only because of the day that I was already having AND THAT was literally the cherry on top. But to my surprise CJ came immediately told me not to worry about the mess. Prevented me from even helping and asked me what smoothie I had and made me a new one in literally 10 seconds lol. It even tasted better than my original one. He was so kind and so was Laura. I appreciate the constant reassurance and energy that you both gave me. Something so simple as being overly kind to me and kids truly changed the path of my day. I really like this chain in general. However this store is one of the busiest I come to, and yet they are ALWAYS fast AND accurate with the orders! Today was a Saturday morning and when I tell you busy! I almost didn’t want to go in! But I’m glad I did because I came in, ordered, and didn’t have to wait 7 mins for my 6 orders to come out (with two people ahead of me)! The food is delicious and the smoothies are too and you can pair and save so this is my go to smoothie place period. Aaron took my order and went right to making the sandwich, flatbread, and wrap that I ordered. And Dee made the three smoothies me to perfection. Not too watery not too thick. They work as a great team here and it makes coming a pleasant experience. Just know if you come here and it’s busy the best way to get around and finding parking is to turn under the light in my opinion.
