⚠️ AVOID AVOID AVOID: DO NOT BUY FROM BURIEN NISSAN ⚠️
My experience with Burien Nissan was shockingly unethical and deceptive. Here's what happened:
Price bait-and-switch: Negotiated $40k out-the-door price for a 2024 Nissan Rogue. At dealership, price increased to $41.5k, then $43.5k after 3 hours. At the end we learned they billed us 45k through deception. They kept claiming either the general manager or finance manager kept computing the price incorrectly.
Predatory financing: Despite 2.90% approval from Nissan, finance manager (Michael) pushed 12% interest loan and was disrespectful throughout the process by resorting to gas lighting and incendiary statements.
High-pressure tactics: Kept us waiting for 6 hours, using exhaustion to force a deal. After 6 hours of not getting to a deal, we left but got a call that they would honor out the door price of $43k for 2.90%.
Hidden charges: Final price jumped to $45k by sneakily including deposit in sale price. I unfortunately did not catch this until I contacted Nissan Consumer Affairs at corporate.
Surprise fees: They tried to charge an additional $466 for registration fees (which were intentionally under represented during the sale). Charges were magically dropped when escalated to the Sales Director at Burien and Nissan Consumer Affairs.
Widespread practice: Learned they routinely send a bill a month later for registration for $400+ when customers purchase vehicles from this dealership. Finance manager showed me 5 customers who they are actively doing this too when I went to pickup my plates/registration. This felt very wrong and unethical, the finance manager made me feel very uncomfortable so I left without my registration. I left and escalated this to Nissan Consumer Affairs, the charges was dropped immediately by the Director (Andrea) of Burien as they realized they would be investigated for this malicious practice.
Service: Based on speaking with the service staff, I will never be brining my vehicle here for servicing. They were unable to answer simple questions on vehicle maintenance procedures along with after service part install in which they provided as options to me during vehicle sales. Staff seems severely incompetent. I will continue to use any other Nissan dealerships for all my servicing needs and avoid Burien Nissan at any cost
Fake reviews: I was offered a full tank of gas for 5-star rating, do not trust the reviews on Google, seek other review source.
Protect yourself:
Demand detailed, written out-the-door price breakdown (if they refuse or only provide in white paper, walk out). They pulled my credit and still refused to give me a out-the-door price breakdown.
Verify all fees, especially registration, are included before signing. Confirm you will not be billed a month later for additional charges.
Ensure down payment/trade-in reduces principal, not added to price.
Don't trust their reviews! I reported them to Nissan Consumer Affairs. This dealership's practices are not just unethical – they're potentially illegal. Save yourself the headache and financial loss.
Save yourselves the trouble and go to a dealership that will work in an ethical manner. Please do learn from my mistakes above and avoid taking your business to...
Read moreI had one of the worst car buying experiences with Nissan Burien this week! I would not recommend purchasing from this dealership as they do not care about their customers or making things right. They have no integrity or wanting to do what is right. It’s all about money for them. I had an appointment Wednesday (2/21) evening for a specific vehicle they had listed. Both my partner and I test drove the vehicle (in the rain) and it seemed fine. The only concern/question we had was why was the “check brake pads” indicator on. The salesperson said it was fine and that there was still an estimated x amount of life left. Of course, Trusting that the dealership would be honest and know this vehicle better than us, we took their word for it. To help with future costs, assuming I would not need to change it for AWHILE, they added an extra $1000 on my trade in value (not much but I accepted). We proceeded with purchasing the vehicle. Everything went smooth and I drove my new used vehicle home. The next day we were contacted by the dealership that I needed to sign an updated contract as TAPCO requires to add another 1% interest for vehicles 2016 and older. How does the finance aka Mike C. miss this as it is printed on the document he sent us. Who knows?!! But fine, we will come in and sign the new paperwork. We were scheduled to come in after work tonight (2/23) to do so. Later Thursday evening, I began to hear the brakes grinding. Literally, metal on metal! Mind you I do not drive much so I didn’t catch it until almost 24 hours after purchase. I had my partner check and he realized the back brake pads were damn near non-existent! We called the dealership to give them a heads up that we wanted that discussed/looked at when we come in this evening. They were prepared for us and later confirmed the brakes were bad and would need to be changed. They apologized and said they would investigate how this passed their inspection and such a thing was overlooked. The only options they gave me was to look for another vehicle or I can keep this one as is. I didn’t want another vehicle as we came to this dealership specially for this vehicle. Not to mention, it is illegal to sell a car with non-working brakes. Needless to say dangerous! I just wanted them to make this right. But they were stuck on saying it would cost this much, the vehicle was purchased and worth this amount.. blah blah blah. This is not my mistake so why would I need to fix this or put any money towards it. They offered to pay for half of it but IMO it wasn't enough. I shouldn’t have to come out of pocket for anything! The contract issue wasn’t my fault nor is this brake issue but they were not willing to make things right… instead it ended with them calling the police. No we were not being loud nor aggressive but because we mentioned the word attorney and refused to let up on what we thought was right they called the police and now wanted us to unwind the contract. Please, please do not buy anything from Nissan in Burien because god forbid something goes wrong.. they will not make it right. Super unprofessional, shady, and they...
Read moreI wrote this review back in July and I have to say I've never been more let down by a business.
I was patient, loyal and gave Nissan the opportunity to make things right. I even worked with the new general manager who took my concerns to the owner.
I had to swap the CRV I wrote about before after spending every day of the one week I owned it at the service center. There were multiple issues they couldn't diagnose so I swapped it for a Nissan Rogue 2022.
It was difficult to have to purchase a car unplanned, put $5000 down (after having just paid for my father's funeral) and have increased payments from $240 to $600 but I felt, at the time, at least I'm in a car I love.
Until it started having issues; it had loss of power, a new sound when accelerating and an exhaust smell. I took it in 3 times for these symptoms. The third time my car sat in their lot for about 10 days waiting for parts (the mechanical report even states one of their mechanics made a mistake).
This fourth time I took it in (mind you, with the same issues I've reported from the beginning) they are stating the car has rodent damage. I drive for work, I drive a lot. At most the car is stationary for half a day to a day on the weekends. The most it's sat was in their lot waiting for parts due to poor mechanical work- which they also lied to me about initially (per the report).
They did not disclose the Rogue had an engine replacement 10 days before I purchased it. The Carfax I asked for prior to buying it did not show this. Their Service Manager states sometimes it takes time for the repairs to reflect but never the less I was not informed of such a big history. The report states a mistake was made during this replacement that lead to further problems.
Things only get worse from here. I will edit with the full story but let's just say I invested $8450 and lots of time, patience, stress, tears. I am left devastated and feeling violated.
My ask of Nissan Burien is for them to make things right. Either pay for the full repair of the car, a refund of my investment thus far, or replacing the car with something of similar value that works for the same payment I am making now.
The owner declined these requests. They are pushing me to finance on another vehicle with a co-signer that I cannot afford or have me pay for repairs I should have never had to deal with in the first place. *Will return to edit with more details of this awful experience. Yes, there is more! I had wanted to attach screenshots of the original review I had written in July. I retract that review now. I am replacing it...
