Here's the TL;DR - I paid over $100 in extra fees by upgrading my device at this store instead of at a real Verizon store. Don't make the same mistake I did and stay away from this shady company.
As many people have already written on here, beware of this store. I was under the mistaken impression that it was a Verizon store, not a Verizon Authorized Retailer. I went there to upgrade my device and got a handful of hidden, bogus charges that I was told were "taxes" until I looked at my receipt.
The first time I visited the store, the clerk was friendly and suggested I upgrade to a different device than I had planned. I was told that if I didn't like it, I could simply exchange it within 14 days. The clerk failed to mention that I would face a $70 restocking fee (which they "kindly" lowered to $35 for me).
Additionally, the accessories that I didn't want (a case and screen protector) were nonrefundable. I even told the clerk at checkout that I didn't want any of their cases, but he ignored me, installed the case and screen protector, then told me that he got me a special deal at 50% off. I was still charged $40, nonrefundable. Because the clerk had been friendly up until that point, I decided not to make a big fuss about it.
When I finally looked at my receipt, I discovered that the "upgrade fees" that I thought I was paying were actually bogus charges - a $30 "redux single line membership" charge, a $20 "setup" fee (which was essentially them putting a sim card in the phone and handing it to me), and of that, over half of the supposed "taxes" I was paying were in fact fees to the store. All of this on top of the Verizon $40 upgrade fee.
Of course, there was no way for me to know this until AFTER I made the purchase and saw all the items on my receipt. And then, when I went back to exchange my phone, I discovered how so many of those fees were nonrefundable and I had to pay them again on my second device. Completely shady - I exchanged my phone for one worth about half the cost and saw only $4 returned to me.
This company deserves to go out of...
Read moreI went into this store last week looking for some help with a possible virus on My phone. After listening to staff for 20 minutes trying to sell a customer a product they didn't want ( he kept saying let me get you your receipt and I'll get you out of here, customer kept saying I'm not interested at least 4 times, guy finally escaped) My turn, explained that I think I have a virus on my phone so he took a look at my phone then told me it would cost $40-$60 dollars to try to remove the virus, but no guarantees it would work. However if I purchase a new phone then it would take care of the virus. Told him that it was clear to me that he's only interested in selling products and not interested in providing customer service. Later that day I was at the Kent station, so I decided to drop in to the Verizon store. Explained the issue I was having on my phone, the girl took my phone for no more than a minute or two and handed it back with virus removed, no charge! That's when I decided to purchase my new Pixel 9pro xl, charging block and case. Talked with some corporate employees at the Home & garden show and they encouraged me to write this review. I will never step foot in the Burien store ever again, not even if they're giving away free phones! If you live in Burien it would be worth your time to drive down the hill to Kent where you'll get help not BS or visit a...
Read moreTHIS IS NOT A VERIZON DIRECT STORE. When I went there for the first times, I was under impression that it was a Verizon direct store, the store representative told me that they will do everything to make their customers happy; BUT when I ran into problems with Verizon services, I called a Verizon representative at 1(800) they were nice about it, they apologist about the mistake Verizon made and told me to go to the store where I got my phone from, also a Verizon representative told me to ask store salesman to call Verizon and they would explain what need to be done. When I went to the store, salesman was not willing to help me, he did not wanted to call Verizon help line, and he kept telling me ” Verizon made mistake, it has nothing to do with us, we have a different policies”. Now I stock with a bill for $1500, because Diamond wireless was not willing to help. If I knew that Diamond wireless is not a direct store I would drive 5 more minutes to get to Verizon direct store, this way I know I would be taken care off. SO if you if you thinking about getting Verizon services eliminate the middleman, don’t sign up through Diamond wireless, do yourself a favor and get to Verizon direct store, there always one few minutes away, this way you will save yourself a lot of...
