Sometimes a bad experience just sticks with you and you have to let it out. Recology hasn’t gotten back to me about a special pickup, so I brought the items to the store. The lady there was rude and condescending - she seemed disgusted that I brought used motor oil into her “posh recycling boutique” (it was packaged to Recology instructions). Told me the oil filter is just garbage (it’s a pound of recyclable steel, packaged to their instructions). Lectured me about the batteries being a fire hazard because each terminal wasn’t taped but she’d let it slide this time. Wouldn’t take my sandwich bag of bottle lids (Ridwell does so I gave it a shot) and wouldn’t throw them away for me either. At this point I’m feeling like a crackhead in a pawn shop so I let her know “hey, I came here because you’re not getting back to me about pickup, can you at least help me with that?” Nope. I have to leave and call a customer service line. I didn’t bother asking about the empty motor oil bottles I had cleaned up and boxed for them - I just took everything I had brought in and now I’m back to square zero trying to get recology to provide the services I pay them through the nose for. If she had just been a little nicer about it I could have...
Read moreI really like this store and I’m so sad I had such a terrible experience in the store today. I bought a hydroflask water bottle 3 days ago. The inside of my water bottle started to rust. I called hydroflask’s customer service and they told me to take it back and exchange it or refund it. So I went in today and told them I would like to exchange it. The manager told me she couldn’t help me as it was used and that I should call hydroflask. I told her I already had and they said to bring it back here. Well she told me her hands were tied and I should call back. I walk out of the store and call hydroflask customer service back and they explain to me they have to return or exchange it as it is not a manufacturing defect it is the store not storing their products properly. They told me they are obligated to return or exchange the product. I go back in still on the phone with customer service and tell them hydroflask is telling me again you guys HAVE to return or exchange my brand new water bottle. The manager, Krista, then gives me an attitude. At this point I just tell her just return it and I will buy my water bottle online so I don’t have to deal with this. Long story short, DO NOT BUY YOUR...
