This place was a waste of a lunch. I’d never been to a Mongolian grill before and several of my coworkers had hyped it up so I thought I’d try it.
The service is terrible—no one greets you or explains how you’re supposed to order. If I hadn’t been there with people who knew what was going on I would’ve just walked out after standing there for a couple minutes. Then I just stood at the register for a solid three minutes with no one so much as making eye contact with me as I stand there lost with my bowl of noodles and vegetables. Finally a woman walks up and doesn’t even say hello just asks “what kind of meat you want?” I got chicken and she takes the bowl with no further explanation. Again if I’d been there alone I would’ve been so confused.
Eventually the plates start appearing on the counter and it all looks the same because the only thing you can get here is some amalgamation of meat, vegetables, and noodles in a pile so you have to inspect what vegetables are on what plate to know if it’s yours or not. We sat down and it was just mediocre Chinese food basically. Could’ve went to Panda Express across the parking lot and had more flavorful food, the sauces sucked (and they limit you to three small cups of it) and the noodles and meat got cooked dry.
The restaurant itself was not particularly inviting and didn’t give off “this place meets food hygiene standards” vibes. I also watched the guy in front of me in line miss his bowl with the noodles and then instead of using the tongs he took his bare hand to pick them up and put them in his bowl. Ew. But I guess what do I expect from what’s basically an Asian themed...
Read moreI was so excited to come here after a long weekend of working and zero energy to cook. But was quickly turned off by the poor service.
I grew up on Chang's Mongolian grill so I understand the bowl filling portion. When I walked in there was no clear direction on whether we pay first or not so I walked up to the man at the register and tried to ask "We have never been here before do we pay first or?" Before I finished my sentence he said to read the sign on the wall. The sign that explains to fill your bowl, select a meat then grill. Cool, but my question was when do you pay. I tried yo ask again and he pointed to the start sign. Umm... ok...
The food was fine. The meat is pre-portioned and you select it before food hits the grill. They had a pretty good sauce selection, though the ones near the veggies at the bar looked really watery. The ginger had almost no ginger and 90% water which was a bummer. Also, if you don't like noise, you might not be able to sit through children and staff moving squeaky tables.
After they grill the food they give a scoop of rice with your plate.
This place is not all-you-can-eat, but looks like an okay place for a quick lunch. Also, food inspection wise they have an "Excellent" score.
Based on service alone this would be a one star, but with convenience, good taste, and price I bumped it...
Read moreI love the food here. The staff is really friendly but the owner who is really rude and racist. The owner was the cooker the day we visit the restaurant and he refused to served my meal in a plate because base on his judgment my bowl have too much food and instead of serve it in a plate like they do to everybody else, he served it on a box to go. I usually get one bowl and share it with my girlfriend witch is enough for both of us. Is not the first time we fill up the plate like many other customers who put as much as possible on a single bowl, I even had seen people taking mountains of food wich it’s fine because you can put as much as you can in a bowl but in this case, I believe base on racism the owner scolded me saying that I took too much food and he won’t serve it in a plate and to end up the bad experience he told me if two people want to eat you have to pay for two plates no for one. He burned almost half of the noodles on the grill so we don’t get all the noodles we got on our bowl. After me other customers got similar bowls but most of them were white people and Asians, I am Hispanic and I believe that’s why he acted that way. Is a shame because we like to come here but no anymore. Really...
