Nelsen's Fine Jewelry — Attraction in Cañon City

Took my heirloom platinum engagement ring here for resizing. I was initially impressed at the price and speed. It cracked after about a month- they said it’s because platinum is difficult to work with. They “fixed” it for free, which I appreciated. Despite obviously trying to reinforce it with extra metal, it quickly cracked again. I decided to take it to a different jeweler and they informed me that my ring was resized and “fixed” with *white gold, NOT platinum; causing the cracking. Now having to pay quite a bit of extra money to fix their mistake(calling it a “mistake” is being kind).

I had it appraised here so they knew it was platinum from the beginning and I specifically asked/ was assured they would add platinum when they resized it.

I’m sure they sell some nice stuff, but I wouldn’t trust them with jewelry repair or resizing ESPECIALLY not with platinum. They might tell you they’re using platinum but they’re...

I spent $200 (for a down payment) to buy a custom ring for my wife about a year ago and I was told by the owner that the ring would NOT actually be made until I paid it off, which was $2,245. The owner said he would give me a “Computer Generated” version so I could look it over and agree that it was the one that I wanted for my wife, (Before it was completely paid off) but after a few weeks they called me and said that they already made the ring, “which I never agreed to” and the lady that called me got an attitude with me about me not paying off the ring. Why would they do this and make the ring without my approval. I was wondering what was going on but I decided to go somewhere else because of the way I was treated. I’m still out of $200 because of this and I’m still unsure why they treated me the way they did. Go somewhere else if you want better...

Love this place! I needed a custom wedding band done for my wife and not only did they come up with exactly what I was looking for but they did it in a very timely and efficient manor...not to mention the price was better than any other quote I received from numerous jewelry stores from Denver to Canon City. My wife loves her wedding band thanks to Nelsen's!

What we loved most was that the owner's (Dan, Janelle and Brad Nelsen) are extremely friendly and welcoming and really make you feel like you're family. Brad does great work on the customization end and created several different designs based on what I told him until we settled on the one we liked the best.
