Phil’s Barber Company — Attraction in Cañon City

I have been looking for a barber shop for my son after the one we went to closed down due to the pandemic. My son wanted to try Phils Barber Shop. We went there a total of 4 times. The first two times we got great service. The last two times we didnt. We walked in without an appointment and waited for 30 minutes before we left. the entire time nobody acknowledged us but they did talk about us as if we werent there. There was about 10-15 minutes where no customers came in so they had time to do a haircut but apparently didnt feel like it. So we just left. Lesson learned - they dont like walk ins. The next time, I did make an appointment. However, my son came back with just a haircut and no shave. When I asked why he didnt get a shave, it was because Amy said she didnt have time. Really?? He showed up early to his appointment and left a 25% tip anyway. Shame on you Amy. I agree that the place looks cute with the mobster decor and matching uniforms of the workers but who cares! The service is rendered were not a problem. Let me start by saying this. I'm very picky about my hair. I have a crown and a colic which is very hard to cut. And I find a barber or beautician, that does a good job , I generally stay with that person. I schedule a haircut every 5 weeks. Yes, I said schedule. I started with a young lady who cut my hair . She did a good job. After a while she no longer was employed there and never let me know that she moved or canceled my appointment until I showed up for my appointment. One of the gentlemen was able to accommodate my needs that day and did a good job as well. So I scheduled with him every 5 weeks a haircut. It lasted about 3 months. I showed up for my last appointment. He was not there didn't bother. Give me a call to let me know. Well yes giving me a call is out of the norm but when I drive 30 miles for a haircut faithfully every 5 weeks I believe I deserve that courtesy call. My time is valuable, just like theirs. I usually cut all my kids hair but decided to take my youngest (3 years old son) to the barber and get his hair cut for the first time. I am so glad I did and what a great experience. I decided to go with Phil's barber shop because I've heard so many good things about this shop. I gotta say, this was the best barber shop I've ever been to.
