I feel I have been deceived by this hotel. They are scamming people with fake photos and misleading descriptions. Do not stay at this hotel. The breakfast is absolute garbage—there aren’t even basic options like juice. The building is old and run-down. The location is inconvenient, at least a 0.4-mile walk to the nearest metro station. Megan is the worst hotel staff member I have ever encountered: rude, unprofessional, and completely unhelpful. They caused me significant inconvenience and showed zero interest in providing decent customer service. They are dishonest and indifferent. Avoid this place at all costs. The room they charged me for as a “city view” (see attached) had every view except the city. The room was dark completely during the day. This is false advertising, plain and simple.

Bed bugs. Had a bed bug crawl on me when laying down. Attaching pictures below. When telling front desk they told me they could inspect the room even though I brought the bug to the front desk. When looking it up online it says they had a bed bug outbreak in August 2025. DO NOT BOOK. Told manager it looked like a bed bug and she asked if i was brining it to the hospital to diagnosis. Not sure what that even means or what hospital is saying if it’s a bed bug or not.

For the area it was a good price. Breakfast was fine. Room was a good size but it was generally old. Bathroom shower caulking needed to be repaired and it needed a new shower curtain. Our phone did not work and when they finally sent someone the next day they came at an inconvenient time and never returned.worst was they charge $50./day to park.

This is probably the worst hotel experience I have ever had. I booked through Expedia so I had already added in parking as part of the package I chose. My immediate impression of the hotel is it is EXTREMELY difficult to get into and completely inconvenient and, I’d go as far to say as, unsafe with how you have to get to the building. It was also farther than what I had initially thought - though that could be my fault; could be mixing that hotel and the distance to another one. I tried to not let the difficulty of trying to physically get my car to the hotel go. However, we go upstairs to our room and the smell immediately hit me - smelled like cigarettes and an old building. Once we got into the room, at first glance it looked much cleaner than what I was expecting given the smell in the hallway. However, going into the bathroom, the bottom of the door was rotting away, I saw toothpaste drips on the front of the vanity. I, again, chose to try and ignore it and just enjoy the two days with my family. Then the elevator situation is absolutely insane. I was on the verge of an anxiety attack because the elevator picked up and another person up and went all the way to the top floor consistently picking up more people. It was so packed I started to hyperventilate because I was worried about it breaking down and being smushed with so many people. I ended up getting off on another floor and starting over. There was NO option to go down stairs instead - all there was was emergency exits. It wasn’t until that extremely unpleasant experience that I decided to ask if they had stairs and I was told I could use the emergency exit. Now - again, I tried to ignore it because I know the elevator anxiety is kind of a “me” issue. The straw that broke the camels back is when I got back home and checked my credit card statement. The charge was $100 more than what I purchased through Expedia. Expedia called the hotel and spoke with Tyler who told them my bill was $100 more because there were 3 drinks charged to our room (drinks that we did NOT authorize by the way!!) and he wouldn’t go into further detail with the agent from Expedia. I was advised to call Tyler myself; so I did. And he is the entire reason for this review. He was EXTREMELY rude. I asked him if it was common practice to allow a 15 year old to just charge drinks to their parents room without any prior authorization or permission to who or how much a family member could charge to our room without any he advised me ALL hotels have this practice and it’s very common; I disagreed and he got mad at me for that. He then told me that clearly Expedia is lying to their customers about what they are charging and once I speak to them again, have them call him so he can “speak to them directly about why they are charging customers more” and the hung up on me. I then called Expedia again; they tried to call Tyler again to get it rectified but my call was dropped. When I was able to call Expedia back, they tried the hotel again and Tyler REFUSES to give them additional information because he had already spoken to myself and two other agents (without rectifying the issue by the way) and said they would have to wait for his manager. About 35 minutes later, I received a credit for the overcharge and I still have no idea what it was for but I guess I am happy that I got it??? It seems absolutely crazy to me that someone would A. Refuse to confirm what my charges are and why it was more than agreed. B. That a hotel would allow a minor to charge drinks to a room without confirming anything - my son told me they didn’t even ask him to confirm his name or the name the reservation was under - he could have told them he was in room 200 and they never would have known. I see responses on here from the hotel but, I’m sorry, it does not seem what they are saying is what they uphold for their guests and how they...

From the moment I stepped into the Holiday Inn Express in Cambridge, I knew my stay would be nothing short of exceptional. The hotel's prime location in the heart of Cambridge made it incredibly convenient for exploring the city's rich history and vibrant culture.

The check-in process was a breeze, thanks to the warm and welcoming staff. Their attention to detail and eagerness to assist made a great first impression. The lobby was immaculately clean and elegantly decorated, creating a welcoming atmosphere that spoke volumes about the hotel's commitment to excellence.

My room was a delightful surprise. Spacious, spotlessly clean, and well-appointed with modern amenities, it provided the perfect haven for relaxation. The bed was exceptionally comfortable, ensuring a restful night's sleep, and the room's soundproofing was excellent, offering a peaceful retreat from the bustling city outside.

Breakfast at the hotel was a highlight of my stay. The variety and quality of the food exceeded my expectations, with a range of options to suit every taste. Whether I was in the mood for a hearty full English breakfast or a lighter continental option, everything was freshly prepared and delicious.

The hotel's amenities, including the fitness center and free Wi-Fi, added to the overall convenience and comfort of my stay. The fitness center was well-equipped and maintained, allowing me to keep up with my workout routine seamlessly.

What truly set the Holiday Inn Express Cambridge apart was its exceptional customer service. Every staff member I encountered was friendly, knowledgeable, and went above and beyond to ensure my stay was enjoyable. Their recommendations for local dining and attractions were spot-on, enhancing my Cambridge experience.

In conclusion, my stay at the Holiday Inn Express in Cambridge was outstanding in every aspect. The hotel's combination of comfort, convenience, and top-notch service makes it a standout choice for anyone visiting the area. I wholeheartedly recommend it to both business and leisure travelers and look forward to returning on my next visit...

After spending a few days at a different Boston area hotel for my husband's work conference our family hopped a cab over the Holiday Inn Express & Suites Boston-Cambridge for some family vacation time. The staff upon arrival was very friendly and our room was ready early so we were able to check in and my husband was able to finish up the last bit of his work before we made the quick 2.5 block walk to the T Green Line Station at Letchmere and zip a few stops into the heart of historic Boston. While he had some internet connectivity issues on both his phone and laptop, I did not experience those issues on my devices so there may have been some lag due to number of devices connected. We were traveling with our 5 year old and 1 year old so the convenience of having both a fridge and microwave available in our room made feeding kiddos a quick meal (think microwave Mac n Cheese) very easy and we love the option of free hot breakfast in the lobby, although the pancake maker was out of order on the last day much to the dismay of our pancake loving 1 year old! The other options were perfectly suitable though and it wasn't too much of an inconvenience overall. I will say though that the fact that there was only one elevator that was working was mildly inconvenient. Our room was on the 8th (top) floor and the wait and cramped feeling of getting a stroller, ourselves and other guests trying to make it out the door was not ideal. The staff was exemplary in their assistance though, even booking a cab for us to get to the South Station Amtrak location that allowed us to take the morning to go one train stop up to visit the Museum of Science Boston while still having time to get back to the room, feed the kids lunch and transport our belongings down to the lobby with ease. I'd highly recommend this property to anyone traveling with young kids as it was exceptionally clean and easy to get to kid-friendly attractions even with the lack of a pool on premises, which would have been nice, was still great for a...
