I consult the Room Escape Artist blog for the best escape room recommendations in my area and due to Red Fox Escapes winning a Golden Lock Award for their Body Shop room, I knew I had to try it! It did not disappoint! This room is unforgettable, hilarious, and full of fun surprises. I have done over 50 escape rooms around the New England area and even in Los Angeles and Philadelphia and this is among the top. Beautifully crafted room that still maintains the small business escape room feel that new corporate chain escape rooms lack. The rooms are immersive and the staff are great. Great staff is actually a very important component to a great escape room. Maddie was wonderful during our Body Shop room experience and even debriefed with us at the end, when we finished the room, how some of the puzzles worked and how she actually customized the room to make it more challenging for us (we told her at the very beginning that we do not like receiving hints unless we explicitly beg for them) since we were doing so well. I have never been to a room with on-the-fly difficulty customization and was very impressed! When we were talking in the lobby about how much fun we had and debating if we should do another room there while we were in the area (we traveled from CT) a staff member overheard us and offered to put us in The U Boat room within the next 5 minutes since coincidentally it had not been booked yet. It was fate! Of course we had to do it! The staff quickly made sure it was ready for us and led us in! Xander was our game master for this room and his enthusiasm when explaining the room was infectious. This room was highly immersive as well and featured a very surprising and exciting element to it that was a delight! This was a great room (though The Body Shop is still the stunner of the entire place) and we enjoyed it. Overall Red Fox Escapes is a must visit for all escape room enthusiasts and we can't wait to do their Heist Room along with their fourth room that is set to open before the end of this year! Come for the great puzzles, the remarkable room craftsmanship, and the friendly and knowledgeable staff. I recommend at least 4-5 people for each room and more if some are unexperienced or their first time doing an escape room since the puzzles are challenging for those unfamiliar.

I went with a group of 8 to do the U-boat escape room and I was initially worried 8 people would be too many and there wouldn’t be enough puzzles to have everyone properly engaged. Luckily, the 8 of us spent the hour rushing around solving an almost endless string of puzzles. My favorite aspect of the room was the way clue and puzzles linked together in ways you wouldn’t have even guessed. The narrator was also great with his timing of hints and as a result the flow of game never felt interrupted. I would definitely try this out with a larger group as I did because you can really jump around solving puzzles with different teammates and have that “a-ha” moment with everyone.

My friends and I had an amazing time escaping the U-Boat room this weekend - fantastic set design, tons of parallel-track puzzles for everyone to work on, and a twist that completely surprised us! Maybe the best escape room I’ve done in years!! I can’t wait for their new room to open up so we can get down there and figure our way out all over again 😊 Update: We've come back and done the Heist with MaryKate - another incredible room and wonderful experience!!! I can't recommend this place highly enough.

Our host was so nice and Nico the co-founder was understanding of us arriving a bit late when we called. For my first experience it didn’t feel too difficult and there are hints given at appropriate times, they seem to definitely want us to succeed and that makes the experience so much more worth it. We definitely did not go home disappointed because the we ended up beating our game! 10/10 would do it again!
