I attended Dell Hamilton’s curatorial tour today of the "Free as they want to be: Artists Committed to Memory" exhibit. It was a spirited and informative presentation. Before the tour I’d started to view this outstanding selection of photographs and multi-media art by some exceptional artists and as much as I was struck by the art I wanted to know more about the pieces, and the context and motivation by the artist.
It was a gift to have Ms. Hamilton answer these questions and more. She did a fine job opening up the work to me and I came away thrilled by the exhibit and am planning to return before the exhibit leaves end of next month.
So thank you, Ms. Hamilton, for your engaging and thorough presentation and my gratitude also goes to the curators of this soulfully satisfying exhibit.
