I'm an avid haunter, working in the industry myself and I've gone to about every haunt in this state through the years. (And some in other states)

I went to this haunt two years ago at the Roswell location. I loved the outside ambiance last time I went. Lots of music, actors, and an overall cool location. This new one in Canton was quite disappointing, just from the outside alone. No one out scaring, just metal music (why is this a normal thing?? It's not scary!) and some stands to take pictures in. Ok. I'll move past that. Tickets were reasonably priced for the size. But we'll get to that later...

The wait was RIDICULOUS. Like absolutely unnecessary. Not sure if it was just the small amount of actors/ticket scanners available but it made the line entirely unpleasant. Not to mention the "rules of the haunt" on repeat for the almost two hours we waited for both haunts. I would venture to say there weren't more than 50 people there either. Not sure if they were trying to make it appear more "packed" and interesting but all it did is make us irritated. They let about 6 people go in at a time with a wait in between of about 2 to 10 minutes. What. Also the person taking tickets was the person to escort into the haunt and that created more wait time that could have been used elsewhere. They really need a ticket taker and a person to escort. Efficiency is key.

The theme for the main haunt was... Toxicity? What? I felt none of that. I had no clue what the theme was from walking through. Partially because of how dark it was. Let me delve into that. Last time I was here that was my main issue. I was hoping they would remedy that because it did nothing to create "fear" or "anxiety" instead it just creates confusion. There were many times our group wandered around clueless of where to go. Bumping into things and hearing actors moan "thisss wayyy". Come on. It's not that hard to put in a few dim lights so I can at least see the rooms! The haunt could be renamed "Black Walls" because that's what I saw 80% of the time.

Ok so we'll move past the pointless dark. Sometimes I wondered if it was strategic placement to cause some sort of tension but by the end you realize it's just there to waste time. Some of the rooms were really nice. I loved the use of water and the natural mildew smell it created. But, like most of the haunt, the good rooms went to waste with talent-less actors (I'm sorry guys. I know it's hard!!) and poor lighting. (Yet again, that darkness just wasted an otherwise ok haunt)

The haunt had the usual scare themes, doctor rooms, clowns, torture stuff, and some kiddie rooms. There were a few moments that caught me off guard, but honestly I feel like the times I got scared was on accident of the actors. Let's go into that...

The actors. I understand how it is tiring to act all night. But they really need to teach their actors to scare better. I heard too many tired screams, "boo's", and "GET OUTS". Those are all really unappealing for a customer. No one wants to get told to get out of a place they paid money for. Come on. Also disappointing when they do the typical, "walk aggressive then bob and weave in my face". My partner and I both agreed the best one word for the overall haunt would be awkward. Because of the aimless space and actors in my face. Not sure if they get paid or volunteers, either way. I hope they get some sort of training soon!

Overall, there are much better haunted houses elsewhere. This haunted house would do much much better with just one haunt and using all their props and actors to keep the place interesting and "packed". Quality over quantity. One of the things Paranoia does incredibly well is marketing. They just really need to amp up the creativity and thematic's...

My wife & I live in the Birmingham Alabama area and we decided to hit as many haunted houses in the Atlanta area as we could in a night. So Friday, September 29th at 2 pm we left Birmingham headed to the Atlanta area. In this order, we went to Netherworld, Paranoia, Folklore, Nightmare’s Gate, and Hollis Haunted Chicken House. This is my review on Paranoia.

This is the first time we have been to Paranoia, but I talked with them on Facebook messenger prior to coming and had an idea of what we were in for. While it was not as elaborate as Netherworld it was a great haunted house. There were monsters walking around outside and while they were not too scary, they were engaging and they all stayed in character. We would definitely come back again!

The first haunt we went into was Experiment X. It was a water/electricity-themed haunt and had some really good props/effects. The negative to this one was that the background noise (I think it was like ww2 war sirens with warning messages throughout), but the sirens were so loud that we couldn’t understand what the warning messages were saying. At one point we were going up an incline and a loud noise sounded right above us and it caused my wife to hit the floor, so that was amusing. My wife screamed a lot through the haunt, but not as much as she did in Netherworld. It took about 10 minutes for us to walk through this one.

The second haunt we went into was the Slaughter Shack, and I assume this is their main haunt because it was the better of the two. We walked a few minutes before we reached the entrance of the actual slaughter shack. We were met by a girl who explained the story line and then an 80+-year-old woman showed us inside. After entering the house we felt like we had just walked into a scene from Texas Chainsaw Massacre, which was really cool. Then in the 2nd or third room, there was a kid trying to escape that ran up to us asking for help and then a huge guy ran up behind him, grabbed him around the neck and drug him on his back out of the room, down the hall, and around the corner…which was pretty awesome. My wife tried to run out of my grips several times throughout the haunt. We reached the end and started walking down a ramp, but were stopped by a few nurses who were panicking as a huge guy came walking out of the darkness. We were trapped between the nurses blocking the exit ramp and the big guy coming to slaughter us. Then the grand finale, but I won’t ruin it by saying what it was. I will, however, say that it is the first time we have experienced it at a haunted house and we enjoyed it so much we debated paying to go through the slaughter shack a second time just to experience the ending for a...

Paranoia Haunted House was decent and neat. The animatronics were amazing and over the top. The decorations were amazing also. We jumped a couple of times. The opening ceremony was amazing. We got fireworks, flames and had to walkthrough plenty of fog with scare actors. We had to feel our way through the fog a little bit. The saw that had that spun near you as an animatronic was very neat. It was made out of foam of course and we only know that because some of the animatronics will bump into you. The big hill slant you walked up and back down was fun with a blow of air on your head. Some fell since they were more scared. There is many things that could be improved though. Less congo lines for sure because many people weren't targeted due to low staff. The parking lot was terrible and only held up to 20 cars about. If you have a big haunt, then you need a big parking lot. The parking lots nearby is no trespassing as well. The scare actors weren't very good. The costumes weren't scary at all and there were many places that were empty. It was mainly all animatronics in a way. The other problem was the website was not updated. They tell you on the site you can record and take pictures inside the attraction, but now you can't. It also rained and they said they have a big space for people to wait under if it rains and they didn't. It is also Friday The 13th in October and they had no Jason Voorhees. Overall, the haunt was decent, but it just wasn't that...
