We booked this Salty Sam's Pirate Cruise for our trip to Florida. It sounded/sounds really fun, but we never got to go because they canceled on us twice, changing their stories as to why each time. Kids were super excited for this event. Giving a one star review because us and the kids were sorely disappointed because we weren't able to go, and the fact it seemed a bit dishonest as to why (saying they didnt have enough people), when it seems the real reason was they just dont book cruises during the week at all. To elaborate, he day of the cruise, they called us to say the cruise was canceled, saying they needed 20 people minimum to take the ship out, and there were only 6 booked. Ok, kids were very sad, but we were understanding and were rebooked for the next day. Next day comes, we get a call again that its been canceled, saying they didnt have enough ppl booked. When asked how many was booked we were told "19 ! We offered to pay for the additional spot, so that the ship could go out, but they declined saying that they needed 25 people minimum to go out, and that the decision comes from higher up and was already made. Both daus they changed the minimum number of people required for the cruise to happen. Dont bother trying to call them either to check on the cruise status, as they never answer their phone, goes to answering machine. They tried to rebook us again, this time for Saturday, but we declined because we leave on Friday. The kids were very disappointed as were we. We heard about this trip from someone on the plane, and they said they went and enjoyed it. Talked to another person in our housing community about it, and they said Salty Sam's Pirate Cruise canceled on them three times so they never got to go. We assured the company we would write a review. In conclusion, definitely dont book this cruise during the week and expect to go, as it seems its a pretty common thing for them to cancel on you. If they are pretty sure they will cancel during the week, then we dont understand why they dont just book for weekends only, its ridiculous. We wasted two precious days of our vacation waiting for the opportunity to go on this cruise. One last tip, be sure to read the site/email directions about getting your physical tickets! It can be very easy to miss the multi step process to get your physical tickets that are required to...

Wish I could give 0 stars. We are locals and in the tourism business. We booked the cruise well in advance because we had family visiting us. The cruise was canceled 2 hours before it was scheduled to leave. It gave us no time to find another sunset cruise. We had already driven down to the beach, for the cruise, and would not have wasted our time doing that if we were given enough noticed it was canceled. It was the last night our guest was in town and it was very disappointing. Very unprofessional. We cannot recommend this outfit and we will not suggest to our guests.

Added after owner response - Thank you for your answer. Maybe just close on the slower days like Sunday. Other boats were out, so we had other options but not enough time was given for us to find another cruise. Please make your 2 hour rule much more clearer on your website. If we decided to close one of our hotels for the night, due to low reservations, we wouldn’t be in business long. Not a good look. A smaller cruise might have been very enjoyable for us. We just wanted to take our guest out for a sunset cruise on...

I took this trip to celebrate my great nephew's (3 years old) birthday. His birthday and my birthday happen to be on the same date separated by nearly 70 years. The trip was fun for the kids and the crew kept them entertained throughout the voyage. The pirate theme is unique here in Fort Myers Beach area and they do a good job. This cruise was directed to the kids onboard. The bar was open and secluded away from the entertainment area for the kids. Prices are typical for SW Florida resorts. The area near the bar was air conditioned to some extent if you need to cool off a bit from the hot Florida sun (especially in August and September. We adults on the cruise are considering coming back for the Adult only cruise. That should be interesting with this crew. Overall the price for the trip is reasonable and the site seeing along the river toward Sanibel was nice. I recommend the trip for the kids. I will review again if we decide to do the Adult cruise. Thumbs up all the way. ...

We’ve been on several Salty Sam cruises (adult pirate cruise, sunset cruise, both several times). Always happy with those - so we wanted to try the Dolphin Cruise. So informative, and the captain and his first mate really worked hard to spot dolphins and get close to them. We saw several pods of dolphins, some very close up. We learned a lot - not just about dolphins but about the area. Drinks and snacks are available for purchase at a reasonable price and served with a smile. 😊 we also felt the price was reasonable for the 2-hour experience. We will be back again. Thanks (hope i have the names right) to Captain Dave and First Mate Steve for the experience!

We Went on a Dolphin Cruise (3pm). Captain and first mate were very friendly, and made safety a top priority! Giving us a great experience with the tour guided information on the local areas as we rode by the different docks etc. We we're able to experience up close encounters with the pods of Dolphins. They curiously played in the waves around the boat Giving a show to everyone on board. Pods included babies to elder Dolphins... they engaged with eachother feeding etc. We were able to take a lot of great pictures and videos.

The Salty Sam's Pirate Cruise was a fun adventure for our family. The whole ride is full of activities for the kids and they had a blast. We took the sunset cruise which was not super hot and the sunset views were gorgeous. We purchased the kids package which was worth it for a pirate hat, eye patch, sword, and other items they could use during the cruise and keep as souvenirs. Overall a good time and definitely recommended for families with young children!
