We were excited to try Wildland on a recent evening out, but left extremely disappointed. Wildland is a newer restaurant that has only recently begun taking reservations, and yet when we arrived—after dedicating our evening, traveling there, and spending 10 minutes just trying to find parking—we were turned away at the door for not having one, even though multiple tables were clearly empty.
As a more casual establishment, it was surprising and disheartening that walk-ins were not accommodated. Especially for a newer restaurant, proper staffing for a Saturday night should be a higher priority than turning away willing guests. At a time when dining out has become a real investment, patrons should be treated as the valued assets they are—not as an afterthought.
We love dining in the Village, where many excellent restaurants happily accept walk-ins and make customers feel genuinely welcomed. In fact, after being turned away from Wildland, we simply walked down the street and were greeted warmly by another nearby restaurant, who gladly welcomed us in without a reservation.
Given the experience, we’ll be choosing to spend our valuable time and hard-earned money elsewhere—at places that recognize and appreciate their customers from...
Read moreMy wife and I had lunch at Wildland. It was our first visit to this restaurant. The design of the restaurant, the ambience, inside and outside seating and the service are first class. We ordered a pasta dish, mafaldine, a pizza (Land pizza), a pistachio tiramisu, and a glass of wine. The first item to be brought to our table was the tiramisu. It was the first time in my life that we were served the dessert first. The pasta and pizza arrived at the same time fifteen minutes later. The pasta was delicious, freshly made pasta, perfectly cooked al dente, but lukewarm rather than hot off the cooktop. The Land pizza dough was tasty but the topping was the driest, least likable pizza topping that I have ever tasted. I recommend that this pizza be taken off the list of offerings. The pistachio tiramisu was good enough but had very little in common with the many types of tiramisus we have enjoyed in the US and in Italy. May I recommend to the management that the dessert be served after the main meal, that the dishes be brought to the table separately, as soon as finished cooking, rather than together at the same time, and that the "Land" pizza be taken...
Read moreThis place was packed on a Friday afternoon. We had to wait close to 20 mins to be dined. It’s self order kind of service. The ambience was amazing and their service was friendly and quick. We had a big group and the staff was kind enough to offer us a private dining inside for big groups which we were not aware of. We ordered a ton of food. We got morning bun, croissants, olive oil latte, mochas, almond beet and carrot juice, veg pizzas, pastas, rotisserie chicken, burger, sandwich and granola bowl. I loved their freshly brew coffees and the pastries. They were fresh and flaky. The pasta was a let down and I’m not sure why. The pizza was amazing and best I’ve tased in recent times with fresh Ingredients and sourdough base. For dessert we got tiramisu, stone cold pie. The tiramisu was the best I’ve tasted. It was so light and melted in your mouth. The stone cold pie was also fresh and had fresh fruits like apricot and peaches baked. Overall it was an expensive brunch for a family of 16. My takeaways are pizzas, desserts, pastries and coffee are must try and I’ll come back...
