Unfortunately, I don’t want to go to this Food Bazar anymore, last month I bought meat, and when I get home the meat was rotten! I called the management and they asked me to take the meat back and proof of purchase. It was late at night and I couldn’t go back, so I let it go, my purchase was of approximately $10. I did not even care about the money but I was worried of people buying contaminated and rotten meat. I went again to Food bazar today, it is convenient for me since they open late and is very close to my place. I decided to take strawberries that were on sale at $1.99., when I saw the boxes some of them have fungus already, so I pick up one that look fine. When I was at the register the cashier noticed that the strawberries I picked were also rotten! She was very professional and ask the manager with discretion to change those for others, the manager went inside her office I brought another pack of strawberries?? Since I already knew that they have rotten strawberries out in the floor, I mentioned to the cashier but apparently they already knew that the strawberries out in the shelves are not good. Why they just don’t take them out of of the shelves so customers do not buy the rotten products? Fist rotten meat, now fruits! Who is doing quality control? I want to Thank the cashier who was professional and asked the manager to give me a new one, but what is management doing to keep fresh products? Not sure if I want to...
Read moreExtremely disappointed with my experience at Food Bazaar. I went shopping on May 3rd Sat morning and found multiple expired products on the shelves—starting with a pack of kids’ veggie chips that had expired over a week ago. Then I picked up bolillos bread from the fresh bakery section, only to find it had visible fungus. When I tried to talk to the staff member about it, he quickly grabbed it and threw it out, without offering any explanation.
Unfortunately, it didn’t end there. I checked a few other items— big cheese block, cream cheese, and frozen food—and noticed that nearly everything was close to expiring within a week or two. This level of neglect is unacceptable, especially when it comes to food safety. Note: most of these items were not discounted to promote fast selling.
I spoke to the store manager, hoping the issue would be taken seriously. Instead, I was met with a shrug and a response of, “It happens sometimes. We miss it.” When I asked for a simple apology, he replied, “I understand, but what can I do?” No ownership, no responsibility, and no apology.
Shoppers beware: Check all expiration dates carefully if you shop here. But after this experience, I won’t be returning. Food safety and basic accountability shouldn’t be too much to ask for. I’m taking this matter to consumer court...
Read moreI finally visited almost a year after Stop & Shop closed. A Food Bazaar opened in Fairview several years back and there was a key problem with that store the one time I went there. I sensed that wasn't going to be different here and it wasn't. Positives first: 1) The layout of this store is almost the same as Stop & Shop's was. 2) The shelves were well stocked. 3) It's easy to get around. 4) They have some items you won't find in other super markets. Negatives: 1) As I saw in Fairview years back, the prices in this store are noticeably higher across the board on all items. Sale prices weren't anything special, either. 2) Part of the reason the shelves are well stocked and it was easy to get around is likely because there weren't many people in the store. This isn't personally a negative, but I can't see how this store will survive at this rate. A lot of people feel Stop & Shop's demise started when the Shop Rite opened down the road. I think Stop & Shop's prices were way more competitive than Food Bazaar's. Also, this isn't the kind of neighborhood Food Bazaar's are usually found in. All things considered (or apparently they weren't considered), I'm not sure why they thought this...
