The Bagel Store — Restaurant in Carlstadt

I wish I could give no stars. The workers are are immature and don't know anything about proper work ethic. They talk about other people they know in front of customers, making fun of others born deformity of walking on their toes and calling them a robot (girl with black hair and filipina girl). Anyone in that store could have had the same walk, been insecure about it and now they just made them more insecure. "For some children, toe walking is caused by a medical condition, which may include: A problem in the brain, such as cerebral palsy. A muscle or nerve disorder, such as Duchenne muscular dystrophy." All the girls do is sit on their phone and talk. My bagel is never toasted (just got a bagel and it wasn't even warm nor did it have lines of it being toasted. The CC was barely melted), my boyfriends omlette is never toasted and the cheese is never melted. This place sucks. Good for a plain bagel toasted with butter and thats being nice. I was going to apply for a part time job but I don't want to work with little girls. I have been working for a long time that I'd be the coworker they hated working with bc I'm not here to stand around and gossip. This is work, not a hang out.

Hopefully some mamanger that exists there reads this. Do better. Get some managemnt in your business.

HIRE SOME PPL WITH EXPEREINCE!!!! OR WORK ETHIC. There is no way all 20 something year olds should be running the place. The only good worker I've seen that actually works is the girl with the short pixie cut hair. She makes sure everyone is taken care of. And doesn't lolly gag.

UPDATE: my bagel was cold. I had went BACK bc my first bagel was deff not toasted. So I went back and told her to put it through tiwce. she put it through the toaster twice and it still wasn't toasted. I'll travel to North Arlington anyday to get a well toasted bagel.

If I could put a 2.5 I would, in all honesty I like their bacon egg and cheese bagel, I’ve been ordering it at this store since 2021 and it isn’t bad and the pastry here isn’t bad too, that’s everything that’s good here. I never really liked the store all that much and wait is pretty long for a simple order even when there’s no line, and I just recently order their French Toast Special with Home Fries on Uber Eat, when I tell you it was baaaaaddd. 1. The description on uber eats said it comes with crispy bacon and an option to add taylor ham for 3.49, It didn’t come with the bacon just the taylor ham and worst the ham tasted like shit, 2. the scramble egg was basic no seasoning at all 3. the french toast was the worst french toast I ever had, it was just dry and sad to eat with no flavor at all 4. The home fries were actually so bad I couldn’t eat another after the 5th bite, no amount of ketchup or salt could fix it. At the end of the day, would I recommend this place, for their bagel, kindaaaa … , for their breakfast...

Waited a half hour for a bacon egg and cheese and a Taylor ham egg and cheese. When I say that 7 people came in and ordered the same thing as me and left before me I am not exaggerating. I remember why I stopped coming here. The woman behind the counter had a full conversation about couching instead of helping other customers. The lady with the glasses is nice but that is it. The guy in the back grilling is so slow I could’ve made it myself faster. I will not be coming back here when I can go down the street to a better bakery that serves food faster and tastes better and has better service.
