We stopped in here for breakfast on the road home from Tahoe. Of course, the whole place reeked of cigarette smoke, but that's to be expected. We just made our way directly to the diner.
I had the breakfast special short stack pancakes, which were dense and flavorless. A busboy brought a small plate with butter and syrup for me several minutes before the food arrived. By the time the pancakes came, a plastic-like skin had formed over the syrup. It actually bulged and hung there like a balloon for several seconds before bursting and the "syrup" pouring out. It was gross. Strings of syrup hung off every bite, making a sticky mess everywhere. I ended up putting butter on the dry side of the cakes and eating that. Do NOT get the pancakes.
My meal also came with two sausages. They were incredibly salty and also seemed to be encased in plastic. They were gross.
My partner and kids had the typical eggs, bacon, sausage, and hashbrowns. Everything was bland, nothing was fresh. It was just filler diner food - not good, not terrible.
Our server was very nice, the food came somewhat quickly, and was cheap. That was the only thing...
Read moreMy wife and I were between doctor appointments so we decided to go to Bodines for breakfast. My wife is a cancer patient and is on oxygen making it hard for her to walk long distances so since we had never been there before I went in by myself to make sure she would be ok to get to the restaurant. We were parked in the ADA parking and it was covered in ice and snow. Returning to our vehicle I was going to let her know I thought it was OK for her to go in when my feet flew out from under me and I went to the ground hard. I think I'm ok, my wrist and back are pretty sore, I'm writing this the following day, I have a headache but I will live. The point here is that those parking spaces should have been cleared of the ice and snow. This was ice and snow that had been there a while from a previous snowstorm, from previous days!! The breakfast was great and it looked like a nice casino, I just think they should pay more attention to the safety of their customers and employees... Two days later and my back and neck and shoulders hurting. No explanation or apologies from Bodines..maybe they haven't seen this, don't care??...
Read moreCarson City Nevada has a great history within the State as well as within the Union. Bodines Casino builds on that history, or at least commemorates various aspects of the local and State history.
The casino is modern and big enough in size to provide ample parking, elevators to gaming areas, a great dining area, and well trained and friendly staff.
First visit was a workday breakfast. Helpful wait-staff and servers were prompt, courteous and friendly. My selection was a basic eggs, bacon, hash browns, toast and coffee meal.
Easy enough to get right, but also sometimes easy to get wrong. Not here, though. My table was clean and fully stocked. The breakfast was as ordered, with tasty eggs, potatoes, bacon and toast.
Butter, jam and jellies were top rate and the coffee was the right temperature and flavor.
The casino was sparsely filled as could be expected for a workday morning. The parking areas available suggest even at maximum use there will be ample and safe options available.
Not being a local, I'm impressed with the entire casino as being friendly to locals and...
