Biryani Maxx Indian Cuisine — Restaurant in Cary

Biryani Maxx, at 190 East Chatham St Cary, was a very sad experience. I ordered a Hyderabadi Goat Dum Biryani. The original Biryani recipe was created for the Mughal kings with Mutton (goat meat) . All other biryanis are a spin off from this original. Hyderabad version of Biryani over the years earned a reputation for being the best. I should know, I was born there. The Biryani blend of spices are unique such that each bite will provide rich aromas and flavors. Sadly, the Biryani Maxx was far from it. There were no Biryani flavors in the dish. The rice was dry and had a mediocre Indian spice taste. To make it worse, it was full of bones with no meat on it. Just a heap of dry bones. It was obvious they skimmed off all the soft meat for other dishes and kept the bare bones to put in the Biryani. There were no Biryani spices to see in the rice. There is absolutely no mistaking if you ever taste real Biryani. Sadly, this was not it. It was neither a Hyderabadi nor a Biryani dish or even a goat meat dish. It was a Dry Bone mediocre Indian spice rice dish. To be polite, I asked if they would care for a feedback. They seemed interested. In the best way possible, I was giving my feedback when one of the men repeatedly kept saying, “Go now, don’t ever come back”. Such was the rudeness of the staff. It seems they have no idea how to even listen to a feedback and try to improve their business and customer service. They also don’t seem to know that people are willing to pay good money for a quality product and service. This concept is lost on them. My advice: Don’t waste your money or time with this place. I'm extremely disappointed with my recent experience at Biryani Maxx, We ordered the Half Deep tray boneless chicken biryani for $85+ tax, specifically asking if it would feed 7 people. The staff assured us it would be sufficient for 7-8 people. However, when we served it, the portion barely fed 4 people and we ordered around 9:40 and we looked at the portion once we reached home around 10:30 by that time all the places are closed we called to restaurent to address thos but no one picked up so dont habe an option other than leaving the review!

If you guys did not assure us about the quantity we would have ordered accordingly no need to roam on road around 11 pm finding food after paying 92$ to you guys. Major Issues

Misrepresented serving size: Staff claimed it would feed 7, but it barely fed 4. Lack of rice: The "biryani" contained only chicken pieces, no rice! Overpriced: $85 for a small serving with no rice is unacceptable. Poor communication: Staff didn't clarify the dish's composition. Quality concerns: Chicken pieces were dry and overcooked.

Expected Better

Considering the price and promises made, I expected:

A complete meal with rice. Generous serving size. Freshly cooked, flavorful food.

And this happened after Double-check serving sizes and menu details with staff.

I recently had the pleasure of dining at Biriyani Maxx Indian Cuisine and was absolutely blown away by the food. The standout dishes for me were the Bezawada Boneless Chicken Biriyani and the Pepper Chicken.

The Bezawada Boneless Chicken Biriyani was a true masterpiece. The chicken was tender and flavorful, and the biriyani itself was perfectly spiced and fragrant. Every bite was a delight, and I found myself going back for more even after I was full.
