Wyoming Camera Outfitters — Attraction in Casper

I can't say anything about their product but I can say I had a bad customer service experience. I had spoken to another employee the day before and asked if they buy and sell lenses and that I had a lens I wanted to sell. I also wanted to purchase a Nikon fish eye lens. He said yes they buy and sell lenses and that they do have a fish eye lens that will work with Nikon in stock. Great! I planned my entire morning around going to the camera store. The manager was not pleasant when I walked in. No smile, no welcome. I gave him the lens I wanted to sell and he proceeded to tell me that they don't buy lenses but they help people sell them. I also learned that they had no fish eye lens in stock. Everything I was told on the phone was incorrect. While the reasoning the manager gave for their practices made sense to me, I couldn't help but wonder why there was such a huge difference between what employees say to get you in the door and what the truth is. My frustration with having been given incorrect information was met with defensiveness. Although I may have said something rude about the employee in my frustration, there was never any work done to make the experience more pleasant or to even say sorry for having wasted my (THE CUSTOMERS) time. I had also gone in to ask a question about other products but I felt so uncomfortable I left.

Being that they are the only camera rental store in Casper I wanted to make a good business contact.Maybe next time we will be able to be kinder to each other.

After much research and not able to make a decision on what to buy, on a whim while in Jackson I stopped into this store and told my buddy it will just be 15 minutes. To his surprise it was a couple hours of fantastic technical expertise from Travis Bone and hand on usage of different platforms Travis had used and am blown away by his depth of knowledge and genuine assurance he shared with me.

He gave excellent advice and allowed us two to try out a camera and lens until I was able to make a actual buying decision. After further discussion on subject matter to shoot along with my desire to only have 1 Lens, and I think maybe a bit of hesitation with that decision he forged forward with my decision and determined all the items I would need to be successful on my trip.

He has continued after my decision to answer my questions regarding additional lens outstanding clarification and taking into account my skill level and what my focus in photography is centered around. I highly recommend Travis in the Jackson Wyoming store for outstanding service. You’re in excellent care with him and I feel the rest of the staff is of similar caliber!
