Today was my first time visiting the Planet Fitness in Cedar Hill, and I genuinely enjoyed it far more than the Mansfield location. I arrived around 4 a.m. and was pleasantly surprised by how quiet and comfortable the environment was. There were only two or three people working out at that time, which is a huge contrast to the Mansfield location that always seems busy even as early as 3 a.m.
The layout at the Cedar Hill gym feels much more open and better organized. I really appreciate how easy it is to move around without feeling crowded. As someone who values privacy and a calm workout environment, this location suits me perfectly.
Although I have a home gym, there are just some exercises and machines I can’t replicate at home. That’s why I like to supplement my workouts by going to Planet Fitness two or three times a week. It’s obvious no one can own 10–15 machines at home, so having access to a well equipped and peaceful gym like this is a big plus for me.
The only minor downside I’ve noticed is that some of the machines at the Cedar Hill location are a bit older and could eventually use an update. A few have already been swapped out, so it looks like they’re making improvements. It’s definitely not a dealbreaker just something worth mentioning for anyone who’s used to newer equipment.
Since I recently moved to the Midlothian area and there’s no Planet Fitness nearby yet, I had to choose between Mansfield and Cedar Hill. Cedar Hill is about 8 miles closer round-trip, and after today’s experience, I’ve decided this will be my go-to location whenever I decide to hit the gym.
Highly recommend this gym for anyone who prefers a quieter, more relaxed workout space especially during early...
Read moreNot what I expected This gym is closest to my house so it's convenient for me, and it's seems very clean. For that reason I gave it three stars. I have always experienced my best workouts on ellipticals or classes. Number one, the company advertises classes. Don't be deceived there is no class room. What they call a class, is held in a corner of the gym, where maybe three people can fit comfortably, and the tiny space is near equipment and I feel thats dangerous. The space the gym does have that could be useful and beneficial is waisted on some spa or something room that is mostly empty. Secondly, the times I have ask about a class, the instructor are always having a personal issue or sick all the time. I thought trainers were healthy people. I can deal with that foolishness, but the kicker is the ellipticals. I, along with other members have found only one of them work correctly. You can work out on it, but if you want to know the amount of calories you burn or time you worked out, you have to keep pushing the GO button. I have asked a couple of the employees about how it works, and I really don't think they have a clue. The staff is mostly young and inexperienced when it comes in to customer service. Not bad, just inexperienced and unfocused on their customers, chatty and all, but most about themselves. It is a very clean quiet place to work out so I will keep going until I find a gym that delivers what it offers.. Come on, at least give us working ellipticals. If the ellipticals were working correctly, this could be...
Read moreI came in to this location two days ago and really enjoyed my tour. Today was my first day and with pandemic and all so I signed up online via the app. I went to the location to receive my key tag so that I could start my membership and that is when it took a turn for the absolute worst. I had Joshua the African American guy with locs who was working Friday June 26, 2020 night shift. Let’s just say you want to avoid him at all cost!!!! I stood in line about 7 minutes while the other rep help another customer. Since Joshua was obviously 🙄 scrolling social media I asked him if he could get me setup. To say that he was unhappy with me interrupting his social scroll is an understatement. So he eventually came over to get me signed up and was obviously unhappy I disturbed him so he mumbled off all of my terms and agreements I needed to sign and was even more unhappy that I asked if he could repeat certain agreements. I wanted used the aqua machine for about 45 minutes and it only stay on in 7 minute increments so each time I asked he rolled his little cute eyes in the back of his head.. Sigh, I really hate that Gold’s Gym closed down I do not like it here. However before I give up I’m going to give a different location a try and if that does not work out at least there is no commitment fee and I can just go to...
