We have shopped at Beaver Valley Mall Boscovs for years but our last experience was unacceptable! My husband bought me earrings from the fine jewelry department; they were beautiful but had defective clasps. Went in to exchange them but they had no others in stock. We asked if they could order us another pair and the jewelry department's manager, "Amy", informed us she was waiting for a shipment of inventory to arrive from other stores and she was not allowed to place any orders until after she recieved this merchandise! She said she would have to see if our earrings were in that inventory first! She said she should receive it within a week and took our phone number stating she would call us! A week passed and Amy never called! I called the following day and Amy stated the merchandise was not in. Amy advised me to call back in a few days! When I questioned the 30 day return policy Amy laughed saying, "I'm the boss, you don't have to worry about that". I called Amy back three days later and the inventory received did not have my earrings. Amy informed us we could return the earrings and then she would order another pair, she advised us to come in when she was working so she could take care of it. The following Monday I called the store and was told Amy was off but would be in Tuesday from 8 to 530 and we could come in then. On Tuesday we arrived at the store in the early afternoon, we were informed that Amy was on a conference call and could we wait. We waited, eventually Amy showed up in the Perfume Department, the nice lady helping us went over to tell her we were there and needed to see her to order the earrings. The woman helping us returned and said Amy couldn't help us as she was in the Perfume Department! Now, after nearly a month of Amy giving us the runaround we were not very happy! My husband and I went to the Perfume department and I said to Amy, "are you not going to take care of ordering these earrings for us?" Amy said to us "you should have made an appointment ". I informed her we called the day before and she SMARTLY said to us "did you talk to me", I said "no, you were off and the sales lady told us to come today, and you never told us we had to make an appointment! She very rudely said "I cant help you, I'm in the perfume department ", there were NO CUSTOMERS there. I said, "so you aren't going to take care of this?" Amy then said "Don't yell at me" at least 3 times, while I informed her she didn't know what yelling was!!! I then told her we wanted a refund and I wanted to see her BOSS! Her boss came down and talked to us and apologized for Amy's RUDE behavior! Other then getting my diamond ring checked as my guarantee states, we will not be making any further purchases at Boscovs due to the ignorant and rude behavior, the lack of customer service, not returning phone calls and the three trips Amy Caused us to make while just giving us the runaround and doing absolutely NOTHING to correct the problem! If Amy is the best manager material you can find, I feel sorry for the future of your Fine Jewelry Department! I ended up purchasing a necklace and ring set, the size it came with was not the right size so the next day we went a turned in the ring to be resized. That date was Jan 1st 2018. As of this date Jan 24th 2018 we have not gotten the ring back yet and when I call to check on it it's a ways brushed off and a manager is always not in at the moment and are told to call back later which at that time we are told we just missed them or they left early. Just got off the phone with them again and wouldn't you know the same thing " sir we don't know where your ring is at you will have to call back Friday." Read moreI have been a huge fan of Boscov's for years now. I usually easily find loads of affordable clothes here on their clearance racks (stuff even for as low as $2!) In this way, last year I opened up a Boscov's credit card. However, on my most recent visit I was greatly disappointed. All associates I dealt with were rude and not helpful. With the whole pandemic situation, fitting rooms were closed at this location, making me not want to look at too many clothes as I wouldn't buy anything without knowing for sure of the fit. I was able to find a blazer and a swim cover-up that I didn't need to try on. They weren't on great sales at all, but they were affordable enough and I just needed these items.
