We must say we gave a 5 stars rating because of Jack in men's department! He was the one who made our experience a pleasure to shop at this location.
Thanks ahead of time for reading this long "novel," and please forgive our grammatical errors as English is our second language.
Our niece and I bought men's cologne, women's perfume, men's tie's clips & bow ties, scuff links, lapel's pins, ties, and a pocketsquare.
We could have bought more, but we felt the sales ladies all around the perfume and nearby counters were more interested in chatting with each other than helping customers. So we quit, went to your competitors, and shopped more. (We needed to give a gift a day for 30 days. Our budget was $25-$250 per gift)
When we first entered the store, we walked around but couldn't find the items we needed. We found 3 sales ladies standing around taking to each other, in men's cologne area, none said hello to us or offer help. A nice young man offered his help and walked us to a sales lady. He left us there, explained that he is a vendor, not a Nordstrom salesperson. This lady walked us to where men's suit accessories were, said, "That's all that we have," then left us. We selected 4 items and walked back to the men's cologne. JACK SAID HELLO AND ASKED IF WE FOUND WHAT WE NEEDED? This was when we walked by Jack, even though Jack was with a customer.
The same 3 sales ladies were still talking to each other. It seemed they had fun. We looked them straight in the eye, expected some sort of greetings, we got none! The same nice vendor offered to help again. We asked for Armani brand, he sold us his brand, Tumi. He sold us the larger size than what we needed. We paid more than what we were looking for in Armani. But it was all good, which showed that we're just easy shoppers. We asked if he has free travel size as a Gift-With-Purchase, and he gave it to us happily and even with 5-6 more samples. Now, 1 of those 3 sales ladies rung it up for us. This young lady talked to the vendor's rep, not to us. She didn't thank us and left us to wait for the vendor's rep to gift wrap our purchase. She saw that we still have the other 4 items in our hands but didn't bother asking if we needed to have them rung up? We guessed she didn't earn commissions on these items, so she didn't care. So sad!
Our niece wanted to ask if she could pay for those items, but I told her Jack said hello, let's give him the sale. We went over to where Jack was. He thanked us for waiting for him (he was with another customer). He rung up our items and asked if we needed anything else, showing us more accessories that we didn't know were available. We picked up another 4 items. Jack gift wrapped all of our items, showed another customer where he could make his purchase so that he didn't have to wait while Jack helped us. JACK IS AN OUTSTANDING ASSOCIATE AND REPRESENTED NORDSTROM WELL! Great job, Jack!
We went over to women's perfume, had to say "excuse me, can you help me?" In order to get some help. Like we mentioned before, they were busy chit chatting with each other. We knew what we wanted. We were directed to a different counter and were told, "It's her line." Whoever was at that counter seemed reluctant to help because she was busy talking to other sales ladies. When we asked for free travel size as GWP, we were told, "we don't have free things." Oh wow, we know many vendors offered free travel size as GWP. Perhaps not the one we were interested in buying, but please, we weren't begging for free stuff. If this young sales person would have said Marc Jacob, Prada, Versace offered free travel sizes as GWP (at your competitors), we would have thanked her for being courteous. We had to double-check ourselves to confirm that we were at Nordstrom.
Nordstrom used to be known as a prestigious retailer, where the employee's handbook contained only 2 simple rules: Rule #1: The customer is always right. Rule #2: If the customer is wrong, refer to rule#1. In the mid 80s, it was an honor and a privilege to work for Nordstrom. Perhaps it's not...
Read moreWent in looking for a dress on 9/30 Saturday afternoon around 4. I was searching and searching and no one came to ask if I needed help. I asked an employee that was busy scanning things if she could help me find a dress for my occasion. She was very nice and said she would walk me over to their stylist. The stylist I think has red hair and bangs and poss blue eyeliner. Anyways she didn't start a conversation so I initiated and I didn't even get her name. I asked if she could help me find a dress all I see are xs and s (she said what we have out is what we have) and I finished my sentence... I'm just looking for a large or even an XL. She repeated herself (what we have out is what we have). I said okay I'm going to a wedding and I'm liking the style of the brand you carry Lulu's can you tell me where I can find their dresses are they in one area? (She said everything is out and all the brands are all mixed). I said okay can you just tell me if you have dresses that are large or XL I really only see xs and s. (She then said ARE YOU LOOKING FOR PLUS SIZE.) no. (She said well what we have out is what we have). No offense to anyone plus size but I have never been able to fit they are too large for me and I was extremely offended and caught off guard I just walked away out of sight and cried for a few seconds before I told myself don't let her get to you. Even then I went home and took it really hard my husband was with me and I didn't even tell him this happened and he wanted to take me to lunch after. I was in no mood to eat anything after being asked if I was looking for plus size especially since I one didn't ask for that and two I repeatedly asked for l or XL. I told my cousins and they were mortified saying I'm not plus size that was so rude of her. I've never had body issues but I sure did immediately after that terrible interaction. ALSO I did end up finding a few pieces in my size not cute but time was important and I walked and walked around with several dresses in my arm looking for a dressing room. I even walked myself into the fake pink dressing room then realized it wasnt functional and drapes were zip tied. I had had it with that RUDE STYLIST and LACK OF CUSTOMER SERVICE. I was in the store for about an hour and no one asked me if I needed help or if I needed a dressing room. I just put the dresses on a rack and left feeling extremely defeated. For sure cancelling my...
Read moreWhen I gave one star yesterday, I didn't have time to explain my experience at Nordstrom. It was nice to get a response from the owner for additional feedback this morning. So here is what happened. My husband, son and I were driving in the area to a store to buy some ingredients for a cake and spotted the shopping complex. After we were done, I used Google maps to find out if a Nordstrom was in the area. We usually go to other locations. I wanted to get some Bobbi Brown foundation. Once inside, I asked a staff member from MAC for directions to the Bobbi Brown make-up section. With a cheerful smile, she directed us. Once we found the section, there were no sales associates working there. When I walked around, I saw three associates chatting away on the other make up isle. They all looked at me and continued to chat. I thought they only dealt with that specific make up counter. I asked if there was somebody who could help me with Bobbi Brown make-up. One said that she will be there soon and they continued to chat away. I went around to Bobbi Brown section and was looking at the items available. Within 5 mts, she arrived and asked what I wanted and I said I wanted a foundation. She said she was finishing a transaction and will be back in 5 mts (I didn't see any customers, oops). She returned in 10mts and started to put away some make up items while talking to me. She was friendly and cheerful, but said she will be back and left again. She asked me what my plans were for the rest of the day and I explained too. My husband and son were patiently waiting all this time. We waited slightly over 20 minutes and nothing was done. I felt I was "diplomatically" ignored. It was lunch time, so we decided to leave. Look at the camera, you will see us waiting and waiting and waiting. I took some photos for Google while waiting. Quite disappointed with the unprofessional way I...
