I arrange Movies For Grownups events for AARP. I called on 3/31, 2 days prior to our event to ensure all was ready. Our movie was at 7, I informed Patrick that we would be there at 5:30 to help manage guests as they tend to be early birds. He said we weren't allowed to set up until 6 due to our contract. I let him know he would have at least 50 elderly people in his lobby by 6. He stood his ground and eventually put a manager, Katey, on the phone. She doubled down and said we were now not allowed IN THE BUILDING till 6. AARP has had this program for 12 years in AZ. We prefer working with Harkins and have never had this problem. All other theatres have welcomed us with open arms. After hanging up, I called AARP corporate who spoke with manager David. He bent a bit, saying our table could be set up by guests services. The night came and we all held our breath. Our lead volunteer was greeted in the lobby by the aforementioned Patrick. The table had been set up by the theatre we were using. He offered another chair and explained the microphone. He also apologized for any misunderstanding. The sound check was done at 5:40 and guests were allowed in the theatre at 6.The night could not have gone more smoothly. It's truly a shame that first impressions last the longest. The rigidity and rudeness with which we were first presented is absolutely flabberghasting. We will most likely not use this...
Read moreIt's a good theater but management should step up and train their concession staff better. Sometimes they are rude and have no idea what they are doing. I asked one of them to put the butter all they way through the bag of pop corn not just on the top. He had no idea what I was talking about. One of them, an overweight girl two weeks ago treated me so rudely I had to complain about her. The person I complained to just stared at me blankly. Nobody apologized. Just nothing.
I was paying for my popcorn and realized I had just lost my debit card, which I had just used to pay for my ticket. I told the girl I needed to walk over to the ticket counter and see if I left my debit card there. She told me firmly that I was not going to take my bad of popcorn until I paid for it. I explained the situation and she said she didn't care. I guess she had to guard this bag of popcorn from a possible popcorn thief. I told her her customer services skills were bad and she just stared at me with a blank stare.

Read moreI don’t offer reviews often because most businesses provide pretty good customer service, however, I was very disappointed with the service of some of the teenage workers. I get it, you get paid minimum wage, but you’re still getting paid, so try and be professional maybe? They were out of novelty cups, which allow refills for $1. I politely asked if they would honor the posted deal with another cup since they were out. Unfortunately, they didn’t try to look into the idea or even kindly refuse. The punk teenager rejected the idea loudly, without tact or respect. I eventually asked for a manager, which they refused because they said he was busy. Very frustrating and unprofessional behavior. I had already bought my ticket, otherwise I would’ve taken my business elsewhere. I definitely won’t be back in the...
