AL&EM - Private Jeweler — Attraction in Charleston

It's rare when you walk into a studio/shop and feel the warmth, welcome, and love the way we did walking into AL & EM. My family was in town, and we only had a few hours yesterday to get together - my aunt, nana and I really wanted to get something special for when we missed each other - and my aunt searched for permanent jewelry and we found AL & EM. We drove over and completely missed the APPOINTMENT ONLY notice on the website (in big letters on the website, even sold on hats - we were indeed those people LOL). We called, and the sweet team said no problem we will be right there! A clan of 6 of us walked into the studio and we were quickly offered waters and drinks.

You can just tell how much they love what they do - despite never meeting and just finding the jewelers that day, they felt like old friends! The bracelets are stunning, and I am now lusting over e v e r y t h i n g they create.

Already plotting to save for the cuff to add to my new bracelet. totally my new I need to treat myself spot, and you should do yourself a favor and stop in too!! They really took the time to make sure each of us loved how our bracelets fell, even between the lines of our tattoos: we love them and are so grateful to have stumbled...

We couldn’t be happier with the custom wedding bands we recently purchased from AL&EM! We have been moving away from purchasing from chain stores this year and are trying to make as many purchases as we can from our wonderful small businesses here in Charleston. We found AL&EM during a local pop up and started following them on Instagram. I loved the look of their work and so we approached them to make our wedding bands. They turned out absolutely gorgeous! And they went above and beyond the call of duty by kindly resizing an existing ring so that I could move it to a different finger, AND very generously allowing us to reserve their store as a backup location for our nuptials in case of rain on our wedding day. Seriously folks- if you aren’t supporting small businesses this is the level of support and engagement you are missing out on! We have a tradition in my family where each generation of women wears a gold bangle with the letters of her first name spelled on top of the bangle. We then pass them down from generation to generation. I’d saved up for years to be able to continue the tradition with a bangle of my own, and found AL&EM to help me bring this life-long dream into a reality. The lettering is very specific, with all previous bangles being hand made in Spain. We were absolutely blown away by what AL&EM made for us. The bangle is identical to the bangles of my mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother, that I now all wear together every day. I can’t tell you how much this piece means to my family and I.
