Charleston Artist Guild — Attraction in Charleston

I literally visited at least 15 art galleries in historic Charleston, and this was by FAR my favorite. For starters, most of the other art galleries in the area have the same type of stuff over and over: landscapes or abstract pieces with muted colors. This gallery actually had a nice variety of different styles and representation. I especially enjoyed Regina Lee, Latha Hebbar, and Maryann Palmgren’s work.

Secondly, the prices in this gallery are actually affordable and accessible to those of us who can’t afford to spend half our annual salary on a painting.

What a fantastic gallery! My husband and I are from Scotland and are enjoying touring the southern states. Yesterday we had the pleasure of visiting the gallery of the Charleston Artist Guild. Not only was it a fabulous exhibition of paintings and works of art but the two ladies who welcomed us could not have been more helpful. Marcia in particular was just an angel and went way above and beyond the call of duty by taking us in her car to meet our friends when the heavens opened and the streets became like rivers. Love this Gallery. They have over 70 different artist hanging with many various types of 2D art. Lots of beautiful works to choose from. They also offer packaging and shipping so if you are traveling there is no need to worry about how to safely transport your art work home. They will take care of everything for you, AND the best part, a portion of their sales goes back to a few local charities.
