DO YOU HAVE FOOD ALLERGIES/INTOLERANCE? READ THIS!
This review is a little lengthy but rightfully so. Please bear with me! Because of my health issues, I have a very strict "no-go" list for foods. I have been to many restaurants who do not take food allergies seriously, or consider them at all. I called Galpao Gaucho to ask them if any of their meats were cooked in or with any sort of oil (vegetable oils and hydrogenated highly processed oils are on the top of my "no-go" list and make me very sick). They told me that only a couple of meats had oils and to request the manager as soon as I arrive so they can explain to me which meats I cannot have. They marked my reservation for having a food allergy and as soon as we arrived they called the manager. The manager brought us to our table and asked me all of my restrictions. He then went to the kitchen and made sure to annotate which meats I was not able to have. Our main waitress made sure to inform every single server on whether or not the meat could be brought to our table.
The picture attached is a copy of the menu the manager altered for me and for the wait staff so we all knew which meat I could or could not consume. At one point a server brought chicken and I thought it was fine, but the main waitress spotted that it was one of the meats cooked in oil and quickly ran over to us and said "not this one". She then told him the only meats allowed were the ones marked on the menu.
My friend and I were blown away by their professionalism during the entire experience. I have never been to a restaurant that handled allergies and intolerance in such a manner. There are huge stigmas and misinformation around allergies and intolerances. Many restaurants truly do not care nor take the time ensure their customer's health is in good hands. Galpao Gaucho is hands down the best Brazilian Steakhouse I have EVER been to and the most considerate wait staff and management I have ever experienced. The quality of the meat and how great the food was needs its own separate review because of how insanely amazing it was (five stars). Thank you SO much for the amazing meal and health...
Read moreService was amazing and I wish I remember our servers name. (I’m terrible with names unfortunately) He was outstanding and one of the managers said he was new.
Ok that’s out of the way. The food was great in some aspects and good in others, then there were some That weren’t my personal preference. The spicy picanha, garlic sirloin, ribeye, beef rib, and filet mignon were excellent and I highly recommend. Then my daughter couldn’t get enough of the grilled cheese with honey. Also I’m not a pineapple fan, but everyone else (literally everyone my table and several around ours) were literally calling for the pineapple when it came out. I felt the lamb was a bit gamy but not overpoweringly so just not to my liking. The pork ribs were good but I did 1 round only. The shrimp (I’m not a fan and don’t eat shrimp) were ok per the group, but noone has seconds. My son in law who is a sausage nut did enjoy the sausage and got several rounds. I had the meat sweats and was tapping out by the time it came around so you’ll have to take his word for it. The golden steak was interesting party trick but was overcooked (which they right in front of us) so it fell a bit flat. My wife enjoyed the salmon again I don’t eat seafood but I’m told it was good.
I’m not really for the salad bar when I’mm at a Brazilian steakhouse, however I did partake here. The meat sweats were starting to kick in and we were taking a short break on the meats so I decided to give it a try. I’ll say it was good but I felt underwhelming. That being said the vegetarian in our group really enjoyed it, and she’s far more qualified than I. Its a Brazilian Steakhouse so pictures are limited but I did get s couple and a video of the salad bar and the hot bar. The cheesy bread is really good especially when you eat it fresh when it comes out hot.(Not warm but hot)(you know covering your mouth breathing in as to not burn your tongue hot)#worthit (but only 1 we’re here for the meat sweats...
Read moreThe Brazilian steakhouse is a very different dining experience; first your server will seat you, explain how everything works, and you'll order your drinks. (Our server was clearly new, he was so nervous but he did his best and we appreciate him!) He brought out cheese bread, some sort of mashed potatoes, and either plantains or bananas. Then, to our surprise, a server brought out some varieties of tequila. I suppose most people say yes because he was almost shocked when our table only wanted one shot LOL. So then we all go up to the food bar and get appetizers. They had all types of salad, some bread, cheese, soup, vegetables, all kinds of stuff. I liked the mango salad a lot, the mango tasted extremely fresh. Shortly after, different servers started bringing out meat. They had lamb chops, leg of lamb, garlic sirloin, bottom sirloin, shrimp, chicken, sausage, and the house special (forgot the name of it). You say yes or no and they cut a piece off for you. The house special was probably the best meat I've ever had. All the other meat was absolutely delicious too, very high quality. If I had to describe the experience, I would say it's an all-you-can eat but you are brought most of the food, it moves quickly, and it's much more upscale. We also had dessert, I got the passion fruit mousse and once again, one of the best desserts I've had. There were lots of large parties, so absolutely make a reservation. There was also live music, a wonderful musician, he was very talented and it wasn't too loud, the atmosphere was fantastic in general. Kind of a long winded review but, all in all, I loved this place and suggested to my family that we all come yearly to celebrate something (this time it was for Father's Day). Get ready to spend a whole lot of money, but go for it, it's the kind of place you have to go to...
