I have road tripped across country many times and have been to many breakfast places, this by far was one of the worst. When we went in at 8 on a weekday morning there was only one employee and a long line. When we got up to order my boyfriend ordered a breakfast sandwich, which they said they did not have the ingredients to make. He ordered a different sandwich and a coffee. I ordered a parfait and a toasted blueberry muffin warmed with butter. My bf got his coffee, while he was drinking it he had a weird smell from it which we discovered was the cardboard they put around the cup, it smelt like earthy/mold. I got my muffin, which I had to ask for the butter after waiting longer for it. My boyfriend got his breakfast sandwich and by the time he was done eating I was wondering why it was taking so long to get my parfait. I went up and asked, to which I was told they did not have ingredients to make the parfait, which is literally yogurt and granola. Why did he not come tell me that so I could reorder? Why did I have to go ask where it was after waiting 30 minutes? I then ordered a breakfast sandwich. The only reason I gave 2 stars instead of 1 was because the muffin was good. I was very unhappy with my experience here. Charleston has great food and I have been to eat many places in Charleston, all of which have been good, except this one. The owner of this business needs to read reviews and make changes based on what people are saying and make sure to have ingredients for things they have on the menu. Especially first thing in the morning on a weekday. If the owner does not care to listen to customers and make some changes, they should not be...

I work right down the street from Bakehouse and my staff and I have frequented this cafe since they opened. We have spent a lot of $$ with them and hope that they will read this with an open mind. I am not a tourist and really want them to succeed. Since this restaurant has come under new ownership I have noticed many things have started to slip. I went this morning to get a bagel at 8:30 am and they were out of both biscuits and bagels. I ordered an egg and cheese on the ciabatta bread that they offered in place of biscuit or bagel which they microwaved and I took it in a to go box. When I got to my office I opened the box and the egg part of the sandwich was half raw. I microwaved it and it was ok. My concern is that their staff would let a customer walk away with raw egg product. The biggest disappointment of the morning was the latte. I used to order a latte from here every day because they were so strong and good. This morning the latte was weak and had no flavor. I asked them to check their espresso machine which did not seem to be brewing properly. They did add another shot of espresso to my drink and did not charge which was very nice of them but unfortunately it didn't improve the drink - it was very bitter, the milk tasted bad, it was overall one of the worst cups of coffee I have ever tasted. I hope that the owners will read this review and take steps to improve the products. I am giving them 3 stars because their staff is so sweet and I want...

We were visiting the area and found this place via Google. There's a couple of tables outside. I went inside to order while my friend stayed outside with our dogs. The line went by pretty fast. I ordered 2 blended coffees, a lemon cheesecake bar, key lime pie, and a cup of water. I asked the staff if they give "puppucinos", she said "yes", so I requested 2. I paid and waited for my order. The food and water was given to me right away. Then, she gave me 2 CAPPUCINOS. I told her she misheard me because I asked for PUPPUCINOS. She asked me what that was, and I said it was whipped cream in a cup for dogs. She said "we don't have that on the menu". She asked me what else was in it and I told her just whipped cream. I told the other employee that I didn't want the cappucinos because I did not order them; they did NOT give me a refund. I basically paid $7 for whipped cream. My blended drinks took a long time because the the wrong flavor syrup was used and had to be remade. The key lime pie was good. The lemon cheesecake bar was ok. The blended salted caramel was awful - I threw it away. It looks like this place has decent reviews, but its not a place I...

The tall gentleman who brought hot chocolate to us, was very nice and friendly. I’m sorry to leave a mess for you to clean. 🙏 The paper cup is the softest, most wobbly paper cup, the card board ring is way too loose to stay in place. When I grabbed my drink, the paper bent, hot chocolate spilled out onto me, I had to rush off back to my hotel to shower and change. Not to mention the mild burn 🔥 To the owner: you shouldn’t cut corners in these cheap, soft paper cups. I’m sure I’m not the first one this accident has happened to. Really messed up our plan for the day.

Slowest Internet on earth. Not in Charleston to waste time online but wife needed to finish a grad school paper and so I thought I’d get some work done. At $10 to $20 per transaction this place can afford faster Internet. Asked the guy at the counter who said it’s bad in this building to which the other mentioned it’s been bad for a couple of weeks. Excellent latte, sadly the blueberry muffin was as dense as the scone and had little to no taste. Been coming here for years and overall I use to love it but it seems to get worse every time we come.

Located in a prime location in downtown Charleston. Ok location for quick drink and sandwich. At 10am on a Tuesday they still had plenty available. Sandwiches left more to desire especially for the price. Egg and sausage are all pre made then warmed up in the microwave and served. The actual biscuit was decent. The guy behind the counter was all alone but doing a great job at making drinks and food. He could use some help! Get a cook and support staff and this place would be great and 5 stars
