We earlier in the day tried to go to a different escape room that same day at 4:00. I'm not looking to shame them to give them a chance to fix why we weren't able to participate and left to then go on to have a blast at Escape in 60, but I will tell you what happened.
I'm handicapped in an electric wheelchair and the escape room we went to originally that afternoon, even though they advertised it was able to accommodate any physical capabilities. It turned out that I couldn't even get in their front door. Unfortunately, their business had no ramp to get up the multiple steps to even get a wheelchair in their entrance. I had actually tried calling them before we went and I even left them a message and they never returned my phone call. They did apologize and after the attendant called the manager she refunded our money. So I was very disappointed this place was not at all handicap accessible but I decided to call Escape in 60 to try and salvage the day and find a place. They told me that they definitely could accommodate my electric wheelchair. The person I spoke with named Mark said they had an escape room on the first floor that would accommodate my electric wheelchair and had plenty of space for me to participate in solving the puzzles. Luckily he had 1 time slot at 8pm left.
Tip -- call and actually speak to someone to find out if the escape room can accommodate a wheelchair if you're in one and don't prematurely book a slot if they don't return your call. LOL. Wish somebody would have given me that tip before I booked the first one we went to.
Anyway, we drove to Escape in 60 after dinner at our booked time. We had an awesome time. We escaped as you can see from the picture I posted with 4 minutes remaining. This was my first escape room that I did with my daughter and my sister. It was a blast and something that I hope to do again. The people at Escape in 60 were very accommodating. Very kind but not condescending in any way at all. They treated me with the utmost respect and dignity. I would certainly recommend this escape room experience whether you're in a wheelchair or not.
Thanks again Mark for saving my "Day of escape room adventure." with my...
Read moreIn retrospect, I should probably have taken inventory of the number of escape rooms I've done over the last ::checks calendar:: decade. That's a frightening amount of time to consider and I may need to sit down and think of what I've done with my life... but before I do that, let me assure you that if you're anything like me and have more than a few dozen escape rooms under your belt, please know this place will surprise you with concepts you have yet to see, all while being beginner-friendly to anyone who has never locked themselves into a puzzle room for 60 minutes before.
The funny thing is we took a chance on being able to come here. Through a conflict with another escape room operator in town that will remain nameless, we found ourselves looking for an alternative escape room to fill our afternoon. And Escape in 60 more than delivered.
I need to confess that I am the worst person on the planet when it comes to names. I (shamefully) cannot remember the name of our operator... she worked with us on Friday, she had impressive taste in shoes, and her quick wit was masterful beyond compare. (If she is reading this, or the Escape in 60 team is reading this, please do pass along these words because she was wonderful.)
We knew we were in good hands and when our hostess walked us upstairs to the Roulette Me Out room, we knew the escape room gods had smiled upon us. I often comment that you can't really talk about an escape room without spoiling the experience, and I will not be doing that here. But an escape room in 2024 that, as far as I remember, had one lock/key puzzle? That's a rarity worth praising, I'd say. There were several clever puzzles in this one that none of us had seen previously and if that kind of approach extends to the other rooms Escape in 60 offers, than they have absolutely created something special here for locals and tourists alike.
I mentioned it way above but whether you are an escape room veteran or you're looking to see what the fun is all about, you cannot go wrong with Escape in 60. From the engaging staff to the thoughtful scenarios and creative challenges, it should rank high on your list of places to visit the next time...
Read moreMy friend and I went to Escape in 60 a couple weeks ago. We chose to do the Roulette room. I've done several escape rooms before, but this was my friend's first introduction. Upon arriving, the staff was friendly, we chose our game, and we were lucky to be the only people in the room for that game.
Unfortunately, many puzzles in the room appear to be broken. I don't want to spoil the room for others, so I won't be too specific here. We solved some puzzles out of order, so we got some hints for other puzzles that were unusable until way later in the game. Some mechanisms were broken, and they had to be manually triggered by the observing employee minutes after we had actually solved the puzzle.
After our hour ended, the room attendant Kayla came up to chat with us. We asked questions about some of the puzzles and she seemed confused and saying these things should have worked, and upon trying herself, was also unable to get them to work. She also saw that one of the TV screens was broken which basically prevented our ability to solve the puzzle that we were on, when we ran out of time.
Kayla told us this room is the oldest room they have and they are aware some of the puzzles are sometimes broken or out of date. I want to know why they know these things are broken, but have not tried to repair them. The broken puzzles prevented us from being able to complete the room in time.
Kayla offered us a 10% off coupon as an apology, but given how expensive the room is, and how we were literally unable to complete the game, it is not worth coming back. Not a great introduction to escape rooms for my friend.
I'm rating this place 2 stars because the staff was very friendly and chill, and the puzzles that we were able to solve were fun, but...
