Wonât be selling here again. Went back in November, walked in with three small bags and got told I can only sell one per day. Never had heard of a used clothing store only allowing one bag a day before. Let me remind you, mine were very small bags, ended up leaving that day. Went back in December during the holidays. I got there at 9:30 thinking they would have opened at 9 at least since kids were out of school. They opened at 10 during those few weeks. It was fine, I waited because I wanted to sell some clothes. This time I brought one trash bag. Went in, they were fast to go through it, almost too fast, they only took two things and gave me $14. I was kinda over it. Ended up going back this past week. Thinking they opened at 10 I got there at 10:30, they moved their hours to open at 11. I personally feel like 11 is a little late to open a business. Kinda ridiculous in my opinion, so I ended up waiting ANOTHER 30 mins to sell my clothes. Already annoyed, I go in with some very good clothes. All with tags on, maybe all worn once or twice and all winter. As some of those were the reasons they didnât take them back in December. Again, a little too fast going though them. They only took three things this time for a total of $20. I guess you canât sell things to a USED clothing store unless you have never worn them because my clothes were in perfect condition. Needless to say, I will be selling my clothes at Platoâs Closet from now on. This place is a scam. Donât...
Read moreIâve been shopping/selling at clothing retell stores since high school. Iâm used to clothing resell stores being picky, but they are a different type of picky. Iâve heard a lot of rumors about this store and how they tend to be stricter against a certain demographic. I wanted to give them the benefit of the doubt.
In the Winter, I took a box of winter clothes that were clean, gently used, some even with the tags still on, and in season. They gave my box back and took one brand new denim dress that I had bought 2 weeks prior and was also on the very top of the box. They told me my other items had too much ware or were out of season. I had dropped off a big box of clothes and left thinking it would take a while, but they texted me that they were done âlookingâ through it 10 minutes later. I could 100% tell that they did not go through the items in my box.
Next time, I looked through some of the items they sell on their website and compared that to the Coach purses that I was looking to get rid of. They have purses theyâre trying to sell online that are clearly dirty and have been around the block a few times but even my Coach purses that were bought within the last couple years and had little to no ware (no cracked leather, no dents, clean on the inside) werenât accepted.
So, that being said, the employees are either very lazy, very picky, or very biased. Either way, donât even bother bringing in items that werenât basically bought yesterday with the sensor...
Read moreI could rave forever about the arboretum clothes mentor! If you are like me and try to mostly shop second hand, I 100% recommend CM over the other popular resale stores in the area. Most importantly, their customer service far surpasses that of other resale shops in the area. I feel like similar stores tend to have unfriendly staff and I often feel like Iâm inconveniencing them. Whenever I come to clothes mentor I am always greeted by the staff, and they always ask if I need help, or even talk to me about my purchases and converse about style. Apart from the awesome staff, I find clothes mentor to have the best selection of clothes compared to other resale stores in the area. They always have quality items that are appropriately priced, and they have good high end brands as well if youâre looking for that. I always see Free People, J Crew, LuLulemon and other similar brands. The owners are people I feel good about giving my money to as well, because they seem to genuinely care about their staff and customers. They were the only resale shop that took time to reopen after the stay home order was loosened instead of open ring the first day the could. They put protective shields in place in front of the registers to protect the employees and I saw them sanitizing very regularly while I was there. This is a small business you should feel great...
